Beckham, 24, who spent this offseason training in Los Angeles, saw a plea last Tuesday from teammate Weston Richburg's father, Danny, on Twitter to "reach out (to) this young man" who calls Beckham his "hero."
"How could I make it happen?" Beckham tweeted back.
Beckham was at the hospital a few days later. Stories like this aren't as popular as the ones that cause controversy, but Odell is a good human being. He often shows that he cares about people.

It's amazing how the kids just love Beckham, I have never seen it with any other athlete. I went to the mall for one of those Steiner sports autograph sessions and it was packed with kids. Beckham has his issues but he's probably the greatest role model in sports for kids.
Make-A-Wish is awesome and here's hoping the little guy pulls through. Beckham is indeed wildly popular with youngins, even non-Giants fans.

Is this sarcasm? The story of him missing optional practice in May was everywhere. Every single outlet, site, paper was talking about it and going nuts. Fans were up in arms(cancer, trade him, etc...).
This is a story I just happened to come accross as I was scrolling through daily news online. Nobody is really talking about it and there are 20 posts in a day. The media loves to create controversy and the fans eat it up.

they don't make a f'ing peep to give the kid credit. Instead the article in the Post is written by Jaclyn Hendricks who isn't even a standard sports reporter. At least Pat Leonard had the balls to write something nice about the kid.

Most likely refers to Carlos Mencia, a comedian who's been accused by many of stealing other comedians' jokes.
