Papers are saying that there is a strong possibility they send him back to Pawtucket.
I hope that is not the case. Nunez seems more likely to replace Holt since Holt is likely toast. Hopefully they return Rutledge who about ready to come off the DL. Nunez might hit better than Devers, especially considering that Devers is untested at the major league level. But, even so, Devers is a power hitter and that is the major need. There is no point in replacing him with Nunez. But they likely will and then empty their barren farm system even more to bring in a power hitter for some other spot.
I'm not sure promoting Moncada straight from AA hurt him...
goes back to Pawtucket right away. With the way Bogaerts is hitting, they may plug Nunez in at SS and Devers at 3b at least enough to get Devers enough AB's. Nunez also can play 2b and oufield so they can move him around without demoting Devers.
Who said anything about starting regularly at SS? I'm talking about the blackhole at 3B.
It's odd timing with the Devers call up. I'd guess Nunez plays a Swiss Army knife role.
Dombrowski was clearly reluctant to bring Devers up to begin with. I think they want reduce the pressure on Devers to produce quickly while insuring themselves should he prove not ready
RE: RE: There is virtually nothing Nunez could do at the plate...
to make him worth starting regularly at shortstop.

I wasn't responding to you, I think you're right. He can be passable (awful, but fewer chances) at 3B, he can DH when necessary. If Hanley is healthy enough to play 1B you can do that.
move to SS for Nunez. Just a respite for Bogaerts for a few games here and there to heal his ailing hand. 3b is where Dever will get most of his time. Nunez on the other hand can play a number of positions.
LOL...
