Q: I noticed you were a little under the weather, how did practice feel today?
A: I felt good, just getting back out there on the field with my teammates and playing football again. It was a long offseason, even the break between minicamp and OTAs and training camp seemed like forever. So, it just feels good to get back in the groove again.
Q: How long did you think about today and being back on the field?
A: Ever since we broke to go home after minicamp. It’s been something on my mind, something I’ve been working towards and I’m glad to be here.
Q: Does it mean anything to you that you were out there with the 1’s?
A: No, not really. It’s just the first day of camp. All I’m doing is working to compete and working to get better.
Q: What are the mental hurdles you have to get past to get back into the safety competition?
A: I just have to continue to get better every day in the classroom and on the field.
Q: Did you keep up with all that stuff last year when you were hurt?
A: Yeah, I continued to go to meetings even though I was injured and it was beneficial for me.
Q: How does the start of training camp feel different from last year?
A: Last year I was kind of going in there thinking a whole lot about what’s going on and trying to figure it out. This year, the playbook is coming along a lot easier. So, that makes me a bit more comfortable.
Q: In terms of moving around, do you feel good?
A: I feel good.
Q: Do you worry about getting hurt again?
A: I feel like if I worry about that, it’ll happen again. I just go out there and play football.
Q: In your mind now, do you have any hurdles left that you need to clear to feel like you’re back?
A: I’m just taking it day by day. Just going in trying to see how I can improve my game.
