The former Giants tight end was arrested Monday in White Deer Township, Pa., and charged with intent to deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after troopers found over 20 pounds of marijuana in his truck, according to Penn Live. The Sunbury (Pa.) Daily Item says Robinson had about 25 pounds of pot. |
The guy is distributing pot - it isn't like he's balled up in some corner shaking, distraught and putting a gun in his mouth.
So that's why he couldn't figure out who to block, man.
LOL
At least he's not trafficking fireworks.
I'll take the guy with his head screwed on straight, thank you very much.
That's not my pot.
No stats to back this up, but my gut tells me this is a somewhat common occurrence - meaning drugs holding someone back who has the physical gifts. Then they wash out and they hit the ground running on the next career, or at very least, they ramp up their recreational use.
He failed to catch a pass until year 3... His career totals are 5 catches for 50 yards and a touchdown... He was called the 'JPP of Tight ends' by the GM after he was drafted... He was/is a bust, 100% of the way.

Welcome to 2017 in America. Where when a guy commits a crime, we are not allowed to ridicule or comment, rather we should reach and give the poor soul a nice big hug and tell him everything will be ok.

I think you are right. Being a drug dealer is just an illegal job. You have to know where to buy the stuff and guys who can move it on the street. You don't develop those connections over night
So I think it is highly likely he was somehow involved with this world either before or while he was with the Giants
His only real transgression is that, I suspect given the poundage, he's enriching some rather unseemly people (likely south of the border), but that's only of course because weed is illegal to begin with.
But for our shitty fear-mongering elected officials, he may as well have been driving through PA with fifty 30 packs of Natty Ice.
We should be enriching the Willie Nelson look-alike from Texas with the one-legged dog and plumpy yet irresistibly charming girlfriend/business partner. Oh shit that is Willie Nelson. This some good weed.
Fucking joke.
I think there's exactly one person on this thread who said anything about Robinson being nefarious - a guy saying he should be locked up. The rest of the responses are tongue in cheek.
But great fucking rants.

Not really a strawman responding to this:
A patently silly assessment that does make him out to be "nefarious."

4th round pick really a bust?

After the 3rd round ever pick is hit or miss I wouldn't call a 4th rounder a bust just another guy that didn't make it.To me the term bust applies to those guys you take in round 1-3 Sinorice Moss=Bust Ramses Barden=bust Marvin Austin=bust William Joseph=bust.
You can't make this stuff up.
One is now a librarian with 2 beautiful kids.
The other is a doctor.
Grow up about this drug. It's not 1985 anymore. There is a gargantuan demand from normal, everyday people.
It's insane how he can get charged with this meanwhile its legally distributed in other states.

then in the next breath literally refers to the post that said Robinson should be locked up.

I said, "there's exactly one person on this thread who said he should be locked up". Because Sonic Youth gave us this nugget:

People acting like he's a heinous, nefarious drug dealer when he's driving around with pot.
Fucking joke.

Fuck it, lets teach our children to sell weed, maybe they move some weight and end up being a doctor. Pro marijuana btw.
gidie should delete this...you know...it's a very busy time of the year football wise. He said something like this yesterday when he was saving BBI from evil, unmarked NFT's.

I'm quite sure that gidie is not going to delete a thread that the site owner started.
I was responding to bigblue1124's 8:44 post as well. Which you apparently realized when you wrote:
Plural. So you obviously were not referring to just Sonic's post. And I said exactly nothing about multiple "people" while addressing the aforementioned post.
The point is that it's only a "big deal" because it's illegal.
I suspect I don't actually have to explain this to you and that you get the relevant, underlying point but let me know if you need further clarification.
Now granted I do not partake and don’t understand why adults do other than for medical reasons but that’s me, and completely understand how some may disagree. With that said even in states that have legalized this do you really think he would not be locked up and still not be able to post bond because he spent that money to traffic drugs lol give me a break.
The nonchalant attitude is more the question here not my statement. The guy is trafficking drugs illegal drugs in the state he was arrested. He obviously spent all his money on those drugs to make more money. When does it end does he continue to move weed or when the money starts flowing does he move on to more profitable avenues?
How anyone can justify this by it’s just weed is smoking to much weed.
After this news, "bust" would be the perfect description...

Smoking some pot isn't a big deal, growing some pot isn't a big deal, selling some pot isn't a big deal... 25 pounds isn't just 'Some pot'... The fact that people serve time for simple possession is a joke... this amount is just legit drug trafficking, I don't think he deserves the needle but he needs to sit his ass down for some time for sure. 25 pounds bro, sheesh is all...
thank the heavens slightly less marijuana is now available!
The guy should not get jail time.

Having said that, fine - if you want me to call out the singular idiot with the histrionics, I will do so. But I don't see why you're so caught up in defending the legions of faceless BBI posters.

In my eyes, it's because at this point it's accepted that the reasons it is illegal are total bullshit.
If you're carrying around 20 lbs, you're likely giving that to maybe 4 people in 5 lb bags. Yeah, I get he's far up the chain, but if the end result is weed in areas where it isn't legal yet (particularly when I don't think it should be illegal in the first place), I can't get worked up on it.
Despite that, obviously he should be punished. That comes with the territory. He knew the rules of the game, and he got caught. This isn't a stance I take on every crime, but on a victimless crime like this for a substance that shouldn't be illegal in the first place, I think it's applicable.
prison rape jokes are so passe
You knew what I was getting at.

Most people were laughing at his lack of football skill and for being a dumbass. For some reason you chose to act as if people want him in the electric chair. I'm supposed to parse out your sarcasm or belief that he's just a goofy pothead?
