Encouraging reports from today's practice!

Fred-in-Florida : 8/5/2017 5:51 pm
-Shepard at least jogging and taking part in team exercises. Seems he'll be back sooner than later.

-Flowers looking better technique wise. Practicing against OV has to help when coming up against speed rushers.

-Engram stepping up in the Green Zone.

Excuse me for spelling errors!
No rush with Sheppard

He does not need to come back till he is 100%
Almost overlooked in a way, but sounds like our top dogs

OBJ, Marshall, Eli, Jenkins, JPP, OV, DRC, Snacks and Apple are all having strong camps so far
And Landon Collins of course

will cement his status as the best safety in football this year

... and I can't wait for Engram to rip off his first long TD up the seam ... probably on Friday
Flowers did a lot of conditioning and ....

lost some weight to improve his stamina this off-season. Also did a lot of work to improve his technique. The results won't be readily apparent until actual game play and reps in the preseason.
I know the reports were sometimes not pretty this first week, but give him a chance to get his feet wet and hope for the best.
For everything Flowers has done in the off season,

he still hasn't faced the "Eye Test" of BBI....and that doesn't start until he faces other teams in preseason.....

I think every Giant fan is pulling for him and the rest of the OL.....even if just marginally better than last season, any improvement helps Eli and this offense....

Well, it does sound like he's improving from day to day, maybe not by leaps and bounds but every little step is a positive.

It's gratifying to read that Bobby Hart looks like he's improving, too, which is a real blessing.
I'm hoping for the

improvements to start showing. I figured that it would take most of camp for the techniques to solidify. It just does. Hart didn't have the issues Flowers did. Hart is just a tad slow. Weight loss more so than technique refinement could help.
Flowers is basically starting over and unloading his previous poor skillset. He needs lots of reps. And he will be beat through camp. If he starts getting beat less each week it will show that the correct techniques are overtaking the poor ones. I'm sure he will have shaky games into the season. This is not happening overnight.
