When Michael Hunter was signed as an undrafted free agent last spring, I assumed he was simply a camp body.
He stuck around, got cut, re-signed and spent some time on the practice squad and active roster. He got beaten a few times (especially by Tom Brady) but showed some flashes. He obviously has some talent as he played for two different power 5 teams in college (Indiana before transferring to Oklahoma State).
Fast forward, and here we are with a CB battle. I must say I am intrigued by him. There is an opening at the 4th CB spot after the departure of Coty Sensabaugh. With some refinement and development, I am very curious to see what Hunter can be.
He's slowly working his way up the depth chart and getting some positive reviews from training camp.
Can he beat out fan favorite Donte Deayon and free agent addition Valentino Blake?
Can anyone at can expand be on his progression and how he looks this summer?
Any thoughts on his chances to make the 53?
Early I know, but assuming we keep 4 or more CBs, Hunter has this team made barring injury.
just doesn't happen that often
that said, it is interesting that he has such good measurables: 4.40 forty, 38.5 vertical, 17 reps
he did have a lousy 3 cone but usually when you think of an undrafted guy who becomes good, it is because he played better than he tested
but this guy tested really well. He is also six feet and 190 lbs. So he has the size, speed, and strength
just doesn't happen that often
Chris Harris and Malcolm Butler are pretty good.
I freakin' hope so!
