NYDN: Deayon emerging as reliable depth option for Giants

Deayon, though, has had a strong start to training camp, which is exciting given what his presence does for the chemistry on the defense and the team. On the field, he is fast in coverage and in pursuit, versatile as a kick returner, and relentless with his effort. Last week, for example, after Wayne Gallman juked past him in practice, Deayon chased the rookie running back 30 yards downfield and punched the ball out for a fumble.

I hope he has improved a lot

since last year because he was torched in the preseason.
If he could play at 185

and not lose any speed quickness or explosiveness, than I think it works. But not at 163.
It's hard not to root for him

it sounds like he is relentless and plays at top speed for the whistle to whistle.
But BBI will blow up when he gets run over or losses a jump-ball.
I think he'd be a great

slot corner because of his quickness, but outside he will have enormous challenges against the taller receivers in the league. He's certainly one of the guys I'm rooting for however.

Similarly to the Devin Taylor thread, it will be difficult for him to make the 53.

I'm guessing 6 corners make it. I think Hunter has solidified himself as the 4th, so I think he's competing with Mykkele Thompson and Valentino Blake for 2 spots (assuming Dashaun Amos and Nigel Tribune are not realistic options to make the team).

+1 It sounds like he has. I hope he eeks it out past Blake and earns some reps returning punts. I think he'd be a fun guy to watch with the ball in his hands.
I admire the courage of this man.

IMO he is kind of a luxury--a specialist DB to play against small quick WRs, who give our bigger CBs trouble.

He would be a liability IMO if we were forced to match him up against a big receiver.
I'm hoping he makes the team

Boise State banner boy for 2 years.

To still be on the team at 5'9" and 158 lbs says a lot about what a competitor he is. We need that spirit for our Super Bowl run. Five CBs on the 53 man roster with him and Hunter as the 4th and 5th.

Having him exclusively to cover Cole Beasley, Jamison Crowder and Juliam Edelman (when we play them in February) may be enough to swing my vote.

For a man his size to be in the mix to make an NFL roster is truly impressive. I outweigh this dude by 30 lbs and am about 4" taller than he is and honestly think I'd wind up in a hospital if I got in the way of an NFL TE coming across the middle.
