It is with deep sadness that I must let you all know that my dear big sister, schnitzie, lost her battle with cancer this morning. She did not suffer, and although we knew the end was near, her passing was still a shock. She hadn't posted on BBI in a while, but back when she did, she thoroughly enjoyed the witty banter that often accompanied the lively debates on the forum especially when they were good.
I know that she made a lot of friends through BBI, and kept up contact outside of the site. She would want you to know that she treasured the things about BBI that made it great especially its community feel and how so many times it was there to help people in need.
Cancer flipping sucks. Such a merciless blight on existence. Remember to keep those people who matter to you close, and to let them know often how much you cherish them.
RiffRaff and I and the entire Plaid family will miss schnitzie greatly.
She will be dearly missed. wow, shocker
So sorry to hear.
All my best to you, the family, and everyone who was close with her. May she rest in peace.
Rest In Peace Quaker gal!
Thank you for letting us all know.
Now, I am not entirely certain of this, but I pretty sure that the phrase, "blast her in the butt" was a schnitzie original. I think it was related to a debate regarding sexism and the inevitable crassness that men may sink to.
p.s.--So sad to hear about her passing. She was a strong woman with an original voice and a refreshing presence on BBI.
My condolences to you and your family.

You are half-right. It was a schnitzie original, but it wasn't in relation to a debate on sexism. Funny as it may sound, it was simply advice she had for a BBI'er who was complaining about some girl he was seeing.

Wasn't A-Rod her "husband"?
You had to love how she would curse like a sailor in Yankees game threads, especially after a big win. She really brought the passion.
Thank you again for everything.
She will be missed here.
God bless you, schnitzie. My deepest sympathies Mad and Riffy.
Condolences to you and your entire family.
Rest in peace schnitzie.
Condolences to MadPlaid and Riff Raff
In her honor, I just raised a glass of Johnny Walker Black. She'd get the sentiment.
Sorry for your loss, guys.
And fuck cancer...

I only heard recently that she was terribly sick. I'm heart-broken by this.
I understand. She had a big impact on a lot of things BBI did behind the scenes. I'm sorry for your loss.
Schnitzie was instrumental in a contest I won on BBI back in 2010 that ended up sending me, my wife, my brother and his wife to a Giants game against the jaguars. We won club seats and got to meet former Giant Philippi sparks. It was an amazing day for everyone -- my brother cherishes that day still. He doesn't frequent BBI but I will be sure to tell him this sad news.
I'm so sad to hear this.
