Will look nice.
Ugh. What the hell is going on with these obliques? Hopefully it's nothing but obliques can be a bitch to get back from.

Happened in batting practice tonight.
Plus the position changes as per the other comments.
Just can't play fundamental baseball. Lefty batter must hit the ball to the right side. As you said. Just embarrassing !
Wouldn't be surprised if Torreyes hits one.
Not in a good way.
Wow
Just bad technique. Should really only be 1 or 2 throws and runner should be pushed back to the base he left from. You are right Sanchez should have chased him almost all the way back to 3rd before throwing - twice. the other 4 players did it right.
Outstanding play and block of the plate by Tanaka.
What a douchebag.
Getting a bit squeezed here this inning.
Getting a bit squeezed here this inning.
It was 8 inches off the plate. Not really close at all.
I agree. Odd play by Judge. If he lined it up better prior to the catch and uncorked an accurate throw dude is out at home

Did you miss the overhead? That useless white box thing showed it as way off the plate but it was extremely close and looked like it caught the front corner.

No B - it crossed the front corner of the plate. All it has to do is touch any part of the plate. Not where it ended. Even Cone said that.
Evened it up on Pearce, but to late.
Terrible throw. Expected much better. Didn't look like he backed up a step and a half, caught it, and rifled the throw. He might have lost the grip too because it was way off.

Going by the k box strike zone thing they showed, it wasn't close.

I guess I did. Looked outside to me. But didn't see the overhead angle.

Same K box showed a ball and was called strike to Pearce. Not sure where or how they line that thing up. It is only good for reference to other pitches in a sequence.
Can't cry over spilled milk. Ump has been very consistent.
He has nothing.
Meanwhile, Didi is raking.
Time for Gary to come through.
Is there nobody on the coaching staff to talk to these guys?
Toddfather doing it right.
Montero and Sanchez is an absurd comparison to make.
Agreed, however no way in a million years do I offer him anything. I don't want him back.
Quote:
sure looks like he wants to prove he deserves a contract with the Yankees next year. I dig the enthusiasm.

Thought Headley was a decent glove, but Frazier is clearly better.

Agree. Save the $. They'll get similar production and a better contact rate from Cooper. With Judge and Sanchez consuming a ton of strikeouts, they really need more contact from the role currently being filled by Frazier.
Between Torres/Bird/Headley/Cooper/Andujar, 1B/3B/DH should be taken care of.
Just my opinion.

I think you are right.
Is it me or does Cooper look like he may be a decent at the plate? He seems to have an excellent eye and uses the field.
Jesus Montero? You guys need to calm the hell down. Jesus Montero? Really? Wtf is wrong with you guys? THIS is why Yankee fans can't deal with bringing up the young guys. We all clamored for it, but then when the inevitable struggles occur, they get called Jesus Montero. Unreal.

another horrid whiff on a pitch way out of the zone. We should have won this game already

You missed the reference. Also, chill pill.
He should be back within a week max I think sooner.
I like Cooper, I think Bird is gonna rock our world though in 2 weeks ish
I believe Bird will come back with vengeance

Classic. All you do is whine, bitch moan and complain on these threads and I'm being told to take a chill pill. Me. I'm the one that needs a chill pill.
I HAVE the patience to see the young guys through their struggles. It's to be expected. But yeah, I'm the one that needs a chill pill.
Good candidate for a L/R platoon at first with Bird plus some DH.

Girardi already said he should be up for the weekend series with BOS
I'm sure they will though
Didi - both lucky and good ...
The walks and catcher if are keeping these cunts in the game.
Bruce would have been nice at DH

So the Mets send him to the Indians, likely for lesser prospects. Either because they didn't want to deal with the Yankees, or they wanted a team to cover the full salary (for two months) because they're cheap.
Either way, that's lame.

very disappointing. Thanks Freddy Coupon
That's an excellent point B.
It's why we couldn't get Duda either. It's a Mets town and staying that way until further notice
And this kid Gary Cooper has a four hit game. Wow.
But maybe he can hit, and he looks decent in the field.
Judge should get dropped down in the lineup at least temporarily. He seems like he'd accept that and just work harder. Hard to fault the guy - he was Ruthian for half a season. Let's let him work through it.
Quote:
I dog them for awful situational hitting but tonight they were superb. Lil Ronnie can play on my team any time. Approach is better, great job by the hitters picking up unusually shaky middle relief tonight. Judge is absolutely lost right now. Hopefully he shakes it off.

I'm just disappointed that he and Sanchez continue to flail at outside pitches and refuse to go to right.
Good win.
So it's not that they're refusing to go to right, they're just not recognizing off speed pitches the way they were in the first half. And they're so far out in front, they have no chance to go the other way.
CLE: 30th rounder Ryder Ryan and about $5m in salary relief.
Mets chose latter.
You literally can't make it up. Mets fans are raging on Twitter, too.
Having spoken to Bruce about the situation in recent weeks I know he is ecstatic: He wanted a shot this year at the World Series.
----------------------
Can't say I blame him. I bet it has to be frustrating for players to know they are on a team with ownership that is never willing to go that extra mile to win.
Also glad we didn't give anything up for Bruce, but that's besides the point.
And this kid Gary Cooper has a four hit game. Wow.
Jay who?
Yep.
Can't wait for the Baghdad Z Spin Cycle to go into full effect today.

He's already been on top of it in the Jay Bruce thread, lol
