NFT: Is it appropriate to gift cash at a wedding? Like just hand

DennyInDenville : 8/12/2017 10:14 pm
I was gonna gift $200 for just me

Is it appropriate if I just give the bride and groom each a cash $100 bill when I see them?

I feel this is easier then writing a check or finding a card.

Question is , is it rude? It's my cousins wedding who I rarely talk too, but do like.
Like literally hand them each a crisp Ben franklin

And say congrats ?🍾
Past weddings I always let my plus 1 handle it

Get a card to throw it in

It's okay to include cash with a card that is in an envelope, but it should be one card with the $200 in it and you pick one or the other to hand it to. At least that's my opinion.
Why hand it to them?
Beezer : 8/12/2017 10:23 pm : link
Unless the reception is in the outback, I don't think cash in a card - in a gift card box or other place set aside (somewhat standard) - is at all atypical.
Is it that hard to get a card?
PhiPsi125 : 8/12/2017 10:23 pm : link
Seriously, how is this even a question. Why would anyone hand the bride and groom a $100 bill unless you are just looking for attention at someone else's wedding.

Just get a fucking card and put it in the card box like every other normal person.
So dumb
UConn4523 : 8/12/2017 10:25 pm : link
you know the answer already, why are you even posting this? Couldn't sound any lazier saying that getting a card is hard.
Btw...
Milton : 8/12/2017 10:25 pm : link
It's especially rude to hand them each $100 separately. If someone did that with me and my ex-wife at our wedding, I would wonder if they forgot they had given it to one before giving it to the other as well.

Silly me. First batch of sour in a while for me (medical)

Thanks BBI for keeping me humble!'

What a dumb ass question that was lol.

I guess I thought maybe it would make me a more "unique" and memorable guest to them perhaps that triggered such a dumb and off the path thought At such a conservative event as a wedding.

My bad bro. Your right. I need a hobby.
Also, like a man. I will take my crow. And leave this thread up.

I also never bought the breathalyzer for this wedding.

I'm not going to drink anything other then soda and one glass of champagne! I'll have a bang stick or something to puff on
Give them

Why not ones? I'm sure the bride would love this clown constantly walking up to her and handing her one dollar bills
Forget the cash

your presence alone is gift enough for any happy newlyweds
If you go ahead with the plan...

insist on sliding the C-note in her garter strap.

If the bride objects tell her it's okay in your culture. If the groom objects, tell him it's okay, you're blind in one eye anyway, won't see much down there.

And pics or it didn't happen.

Good to see that you're as desperate for attention in real life as you are on here. When you become an adult you'll be able to figure this sort of thing out for yourself.

Better yet is to get an incredibily large gift box
Diver_Down : 8/13/2017 8:31 am : link
elaborately wrapped so all the single chicks at the wedding see you place the gift with the other gifts. Make it a show - like you are struggling with the weight. The chicks will think you are so thoughtful and will have them curious as to what could be in the package. Stuff it with $1 dollar bills so you aren't being cheap. But then milk the mystery package around the chicks at the reception and by the end of the night they'll be stuffing their panties in your mouth.
Umm

buy a wedding card and just put $200 cash in it. Yes it would be uncomfortable for them.
When the married couple is sitting having dinner walk to their table
Joey from GlenCove : 8/13/2017 10:59 am : link
Whip out a money wad in a money clip.

100s on the outside.

Lick your fingers and fan towards the center give them each separately 1 20 Dollar bill 5 10s, 5 5s, 4 ones. And go int you pocket and grab the rest in change.

That's what I typically do.
Why do some of you dummies...

this, and instead of handing it to each of them personally, throw it all in the air and make it rain.
Get 200 singles and then during the toast to the bride make it rain
Lawrence_Taylor_56 : 8/13/2017 11:23 am : link
All over her while making extremely aggressive eye contact with the groom and mouthing the words "fuck her, I did".

Unforgettable.
what is the going rate these days for a couple?

depends on the market. if you are going to a wedding at an upscale hotel in a major city that's one rate. if you are going to a wedding in a town where that bride recently was arrested for firing her weapon and flushing it down the toilet of her motel, people would look at you suspiciously if you gave the couple $400.
buy a card
