as he is healthy Draughn will be gone.
that's even more true of J.T. Thomas. No way they want to pay him $3M to come off the bench. They just want him healthy enough to avoid an injury settlement.
Milton: You keep repeating the same thing about J.T. Thomas

You're entitled to your opinion; that's fine. The team is thin at LB, and can use help on specials. A healthy J.T. Thomas could be part of a solution. Not saying he will be - just that none of us have a clue . Of course Thomas isn't worth $3MM, but that problem can be fixed with a pen.

I'm all for keeping Thomas at a reduced salary. And it's not unreasonable to think that they could come to an agreement on it, but why is it taking so long for Thomas to rehab an ACL he tore 11 months ago? The whole thing feels like a game of chicken to me with Thomas angling for an injury settlement and the Giants thinking they can wait it out and then release him at no cost. Or at the very least, have more leverage when it comes to negotiating a paycut.

Davis Webb didn't get a rep in team periods today. At some point fans will stop asking if he's going to be the No. 2 QB this season.

No, we won't. And we shouldn't.

Matt LaCosse with a nifty leaping grab. #Giants https://twitter.com/JamesKratch/status/896765063385817090 - ( New Window )
And LaCosse continues his streak of making at least one circus catch each practice.
Five must-see highlights posted...

...and two of them are Matt LaCosse.
Is LaCosse a real weapon or another Ramses Barden?
Big Blue Blogger : 8/13/2017 5:13 pm : link
Barden made highlight catches in practice against scrubs too. LaCosse needs to stay healthy and produce in games - and that includes blocking. I hope he can. There's a place for him if he can grab it. It's not as though Jerell Adams or Will Tye has a lock on a roster spot, and two extra TEs behind Ellison and Engram is a possibility.

Just don't see how people can think a QB who barely spent any time under center on college would be ready to be a backup. It's unrealistic.

Predominately, it is wise to defer judgment and tip your cap to the coaches that make the decisions because they should clearly know best.

And, every now and then, there are times like this that make you sip your martini on a Sunday evening and say "Why?"
Is that really a sick catch by Beckham?
BigBlueWhale : 8/13/2017 6:20 pm : link
It looked like he 1-handed a catch he easily could've caught with 2.
it's a routine catch for him
SHO'NUFF : 8/13/2017 6:36 pm : link
at this point. we should all realize that by now.

And that's why he should be getting as many snaps as possible now.

What's unrealistic is expecting that Geno Smith or Josh Johnson would be anything more than they've been before - which has been deeply disappointing - should the need arise for one of them to play.
The odds that Webb could perform at Geno Smith's level
Ten Ton Hammer : 8/13/2017 7:11 pm : link
against NFL starters in a single training camp worth of snaps is what I meant by unrealistic.
I love Odell
