Did Brett Jones accrue a year toward FA his rookie year?

My remembrance was he was hurt early and IRed. Wouldn't that mean we control his rights for three more years?
he's an UDFA under contract through 2018

Unfortunately, the year on IR counts as service.

Assuming Jones accrues a third year in 2017, he will be a restricted free agent in 2018, when his three-year rookie deal expires.
Doesn't IR count as a year accrued?

That's my understanding.
The confusing part in a case like Jones is the salaries.

Jones got a reduced "split" salary in 2015. Then he got the CBA-mandated rookie salary in 2016, although he had already earned a year of service. (I think this is referred to as a contract "tolling" - essentially reverting to a salary based the prior year's level of service.) This year, he's back on track with the salary for a third-year player.
