The cross town rivals go out for 4 games. Starting tonight at Yankee Stadium. The Mets are looking to play spoiler while the Yankees are looking to solidify their playoff chances. With Montero pitching tonight, I think the Mets should just forfeit the game and give it to the Yankees and save the hits for tomorrow.
Many other storylines to watch. Judge vs. Conforto and the battle for who is the best young player in NY. Right now Judge is ice cold while Conforto is red hot. Also, the Mets will have Rosario and Smith get their first taste of the Subway series. Finally, does Chapman turn it around after a rough outing (really one pitch) last night.
I was thinking, when is it time to retire the Judge's chambers. I think it is clear now the Yankees should not have started this as soon as they did. Judge may still be a great player, but this was unneeded pressure to put on him.
Garcia vs. Lugo in game three is no big advantage one way or another.
Severino vs. Matz in game four is advantage Yankees on paper, but Matz is certainly capable.
If anyone's expecting the Yanks to steamroll this week, you might be disappointed.
LOL, just kidding (only kidding about Conforto and Judge, not about losing) but some of you take this stuff too seriously, Mets and Yankees aren't rivals other than in the hearts and minds of insecure fans.
The only advantage I see is in the Yanks training staff. yes that is a joke.
Whiffle Ball Tourney!
5 HR in 8 games is pretty hot to me.

I mentioned his OPS which at times has been higher than it is currently. Yes, he's hit a few HR recently which is nice. I wouldn't really say he's on fire, however.

That's any series in that crappy Phillies bandbox.
Cabrera had a very weak single but yeah 3 Ks for Cessa
One more game and he ties Dunn's all time record.
It was close, but no denying that he gets that called a strike against him FAR more than the average major leaguer.
Fuckin madness.
Fuckin madness.
I just don't understand some fans. Can't wait to play all the prospects. Can't wait to call a kid the next face of the league, but all it takes a one bad slump before he gets angrily tossed out with the trash.
I really hate how they call that striking out the side.
Striking out the side should be you k 3 batters in a row. Now walks, hits or errors.

I tend to agree, but I hear that often enough to say it.
Fuckin madness.
JFC, no wonder this world is fucked up. I was responding to somebody posting that Chapman shouldn't close any more because he is struggling and said that they should send Judge down til he gets his swing straightened out, also.
Sorry my sarcasm was not readily apparent to the unwashed masses. It's not like sarcasm is foreign or new to my posts.

You're usually so serious 'bout Yanks, I'm not surprised people took that comment so seriously...

I am serious that is exactly why I wrote it.
Don't freak out. Don't freak out.

Curtis Granders at Yankee Stadium as a Met:
8 games
11-28 (.393)
5 HR
Good stuff, but completely incapable of getting through 4-6 innings without several mistakes that get hit 350-450 feet. He missed the spot on the Cespedes HR as badly as humanly possible.
