so I have posted on this before, Zeke suspension ruins everything.
In my league we have two keepers, and you lose the round you drafted the person in. So my keepers are set (Howard in the 8th and Michael Thomas in the 11th). I did some early planning last year in the face of a slew of injuries and I have two first, two seconds, and a 3rd round pick.
I wound up with the 3rd pick and 7th pick in the 1st.
My top 4 picks are #3, #7, #12, #16 and #24.
I felt great about it a week ago b/c there were three "tier 1" talents available, Julio Jones, Zeke, and Odell Beckham. So I was guaranteed 1 of those 3 and would be fine with any of them.
Now, it's unlikely I draft Zeke and here are my choices (12 team PPR, 6 pt per passing TD)
I will assume Elliott is there and Jones and Beckham are gone here is the top 25 available:
1. McCoy
2. Evans
3. Freeman
4. TY
5. Dez
6. Doug Baldwin
7. Gronk
8. Demaryius Thomas
9. Gurley
10. Hopkins
11. Fournette
12. Lamar Miller
13. Allen Robinson
14. Keenan Allen
15. Kelce
16. Watkins
17. Alshon
18. Tate
19. Crabtree
20. McCaffrey
21. Fitz
22. Landry
23. Pryor
24. Hyde
25. Olsen
So, who do you take at 3 knowing I have a choice of any of those players 1 - 25, assuming neither of the top 2 teams take Elliott and then who would you target at 7?
And I'm not crazy to completely avoid Elliott right?
I do have a question for you PJ. What is with the 6pts per passing TD? Seems to put too much emphasis or importance on the QB
that's the way it's always been in this league for some reason and we have bonuses for long TD's so if you have say Matt Ryan and Julio Jones (for example) and there's a 40 yard TD pass you get all the yards, 12 pts for the TD and 10 bonus points (5 each) for the long TD.
and some free advice for you, check the BBI league, since that league also has 6pts per passing TD.
You can share advice here without tipping your hand, basically looking at the list of players I have available with ppr and 6pts per passing TD only non-standard settings, who would you take? I'm positive it won't come down to you tipping your hand.
I'll probably just lean WR and take either Jordy or Mike Thomas and see what I've got available on the wrap.

when do you pick in the BBI league?
Assuming top 7 now are going to be DJ, Bell, Brown, Julio, OBJ, Evans, AJ.. which means I'll be looking at McCoy, Jordy, Thomas, Hilton, Freeman, etc.
I also have 8th pick in my other 12 team PPR league so I'm going to have to do this twice.
But I'm tempted to keep Mariotta over Freeman and then try to draft a guy like McCaffery with my second. I feel like Mariotta's really going to benefit from his new WR's, and I feel there's a risk for Freeman to miss games and have TD's vultured.

I'm at 9, so your decision directly effects me. it did anyway, before Zeke, but 1 less good player now that will go ahead of me.
hopefully no more injuries or suspensions this pre-season.

8th. Which was perfect before the Zeke suspension because it meant either Evans or AJ were guaranteed to fall into my lap and I likely would have been fine with either.

I need to remember that - just in case you try to purposely steer me a certain way so you can get someone you want.
In all seriousness, though - yeah I hope there aren't any more injuries or suspensions.
Keith is probably keeping the sheet to himself this year.

It is a really tough call this year. So many things have happened in the past week which have turned it all upside down. I pasted the top portion of your list below. I prefer to have some certainty. McCoy's situation is unclear now that Watkins is gone. Freeman has a new OC so who knows there. TY with the Luck situation does not make me feel good. Dez may get tighter coverage with Zeke out of the lineup... or they may throw to him more now. Evans may be the safest play.
1. McCoy
2. Evans
3. Freeman
4. TY
5. Dez
6. Doug Baldwin
7. Gronk
8. Demaryius Thomas
9. Gurley
10. Hopkins
11. Fournette
I think fantasypros or some site does something sort of similar, not nearly as comprehensive though.
Gurley -- gets a ton of volume and should get more in the passing game. The team should be better so defenses shouldn't be able to stuff the box as much. Could be primed for a bounce back year.
Hopkins -- volume is a huge part of WR production and he gets a ton. Check his targets the last few years. Legit WR1 upside.
Alshon -- ton of volume in CHI when healthy. WR1 upside if healthy. Legitimately big if though.
Olsen -- based on your list. I'd prob go another direction though bc TE is pretty deep this year. Prob BPA QB.
Don't worry, I can give good advice and still kick your sorry 0-13 ass.
Gotta have stretch goals
So it's true, kmed, no spreadsheet because you feel threatened by Arc?
I actually think he had your friend's spreadsheet when he went 0 - 13 so maybe there's a Giants fan version your buddy creates, LOL.
I know.
People on here are hesitant to share advice because they fear they'll tip their hand, people take this seriously.
I honestly like people's opinions and if someone on here (even in our league) says I'd go Evans over McCoy I assure you I am not going to remember that come draft day in our league and have it influence who I'd take.

And I'll tell you that I'd take McCoy over Evans. You can use that information however you like, but I have the #2 pick so it's not going to help too much.
If we were playing for more than 25 friend points, I might be a little closer to the vest.

exactly, that's my point. I pick 9th, so I guess the people who pick 10 - 12 if they say who they like could in theory be impacted by my selection, but its unlikely.
I thought you already picked Rosas #1 overall?

There's a good chance I'm taking Eli with my first pick.

Well played leatherneck, all my mocks that I've been running (which is pretty much 24/7 until our actual draft) have you taking Rosas first. Well played.
I thought there was a certain code - and it appears to be broken.
Pretty messed up.

Nobody wants to help you out. Can you imagine the embarrassment for the team that somehow loses to you?
area junk has already given me a bunch of inside info on some players.

That's ok, I've got EliteMob doing detailed offensive line reports for all 32 teams complete with cage ratings.
Arc had the 9th pick, which doesn't bode well for me.
And to be fair, Arc's final roster he was starting Monterio Hardesty and Delone Carter at RB (he did lose by over 100 points though).
There were 2 close games too, he lost to jlukes by less than 2 points and Big Fred by less than a point. .87 points difference 6 years ago and Arc could have avoided all this abuse.
None of the other games were really close.
1. (9) Andre Johnson (Hou - WR)
2. (16) Frank Gore (Ind - RB)
3. (33) LeGarrette Blount (Phi - RB)
4. (40) Matt Schaub (Atl - QB)
5. (57) Julio Jones (Atl - WR)
6. (64) Jason Witten (Dal - TE)
7. (81) Brandon Jacobs (NYG - RB)

9. (105) James Starks (GB - RB)

12. (136) Chicago (Chi - DEF)
13. (153) Dustin Keller (Mia - TE)
14. (160) Stephen Gostkowski
LOL, sorry, I didn't mean to defend Arc, I like laughing at 0 - 13 too, it's hard to do.
I'm in a season long pick 'em pool for high stakes, every game, every week, against the Tuesday morning spreads (with three weekly 2-point picks). And there is a last place prize that is about $1,000 so usually around the mid-point of the season teams evaluate where they are and then try and go for last place if they're not close to the prize money (top 15 places get paid).
And it always fails, if you can't pick winners why do people think they can pick losers?
Anyway, my point is Arc should be laughed at, 0 for the season is really hard to do, I just wanted to provide the context.
Also, I picked up Cruz that year which was his breakout season. My team really shouldn't have been THAT bad. But it was.
I was ahead of my time taking Andre Johnson in the first rd. I saw the talent in Julio Jones... clearly a young, aspiring, successful fantasy GM.
Relax, dude. You're no kmed.

That's a high bar to compare anyone to.
Because he had 2 TDs vs scrubs in the first preseason game? Can we see him at least play with/against the 1s first before we anoint him?
And I like him and will take him in deeper leagues but let's hold off on putting him in the HOF for now.
Marvin Jones is going to lose targets. He isn't consistent. Golladay will take his PT. He'll be the red zone guy, run slants for them and be the down the field threat. He's a strong runner and they will get him the ball often.
Stafford knows how to use a huge target like Galladay. By week 4, he'll be WR1 in DET. They throw it a lot. Have an excellent QB. Play in a dome. That will add up to a FF draft steal and a league winner type pick.

PJ,
It is tough to say that he chose the wrong players because that was a long time ago and who the hell can remember that the rankings were back then?
What I will say is that I do not like when he selected certain positions.
I don't really remember what derailed my team I think I lost Miles Austin early to a sprained ankle or something and then I just never recovered at WR.

Still doesn't excuse my disastrous season, but most of my picks were semi-justifiable at the time I made them. I know looking at it now, it seems like lunacy that I took a guy like Blount so early but the perception of him then and the perception of him now were two completely different things.
Matt Schaub looks like a fucking joke of a pick now but I'm fairly certain he actually led the league in passing yards the year before that.
Andre Johnson was also pretty well-regarded as the best WR in football at that time and he wound up hurt.
Gore was still in his 20's.
Mike Sims-Walker was actually a thing for a year or so.
If you remember the Packers' 2010 Super Bowl run, James Starks was actually the reason their run game came alive. He was a rookie that year and played really well down the stretch. It wasn't crazy to think he'd follow up with a solid campaign.
To go 0-13, almost everything that CAN go wrong has to go wrong.. that's pretty much what happened to me.
Still pathetic, though!

You even wound up with Cruz on waivers and he was your highest point player, your QB's wound up Hasselback and Flacco, so I think Schaub probably began his injury history that year.
There was logic behind my picks.. they just didn't work. Cruz was the only good thing that happened to me that year.
