And on the blackboard over Imlach's shoulder in that quiet moment of revelry are words Coughlin can appreciate: "No Practice Tomorrow."

"Isn't that great?" Coughlin said.

For Coughlin -- who delights in the relentlessness of preparation so much that, before the final sip of champagne had been swallowed hours after he won a Super Bowl with the New York Giants, he began musing aloud about the start of the next offseason program -- there are, once again, more practices to evaluate, more games to prepare for, his once and future team to mold...

I'll admit, toward the end I definitely started taking him for granted. I still think the Mara's made the right move though. I'll be rooting for the Jags for sure.
He's a huge part of NYG history

Yes and TC needed more time to make sound calls and a live NFL game will not provide that. Now he's in a place where his talent can shine at a slower, more methodical pace.

Coughlin for what he did for the Giants, but it sounds to me that he's not really cut out to be an executive. He's too hands-on. I would think he'd be a pain in the neck to work for.
he has three rings with the Giants

Me too. I started getting antsy for someone new his last couple seasons because it was just time. You could sense it.

Reg - that bottom picture was my desktop's wall paper for years. I still get (a little) emotional looking at it.
