Col. Tom and the Hall of Fame

grizz299 : 8/15/2017 10:59 am
Let's assume TC has a great run with Jax. Makes the playoffs and maybe even a superbowl appearance. Would he go in as a Jaquar or a Giant.? Remember he began his career down there and set records for an expansion team.

And if his run down there was ordinary but lasts for the better part of a decade and he gets in on the two superbowls here and simple longevity...If the Hall issues a dance card which uniform will he want to be remembered for?

Or is it unlike baseball and he can go without identifying with any specific group?

Is a New Hall of Fame Member Enshrined as a Member of a Team?

Obviously, teams take great pride in the accomplishments of individuals who have been a part of their organization. Often individual teams and even the Hall of Fame will list enshrinees according to the team or teams on which they spent a significant period of time. An enshrinee, however, is not asked to “declare,” nor does the Hall of Fame “choose” a team under which a new member is enshrined. When elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, an individual is recognized for accomplishments as a player, coach, or contributor.
He will go in as a Giant.

I agree with this, but I usually decide by the representation that shows up on induction day.
The waiting period for coaches and players

is 5 years after their last contract year. Executives are eligible with no waiting period. He is 2 years removed from his last coaching contract. He only needs to wait 3 more years to go in as a coach.
Coughlin and Eli

Didn't get the chance to go when Michael Strahan got inducted to the Hall of Fame. Althought I'll try my best to go to both Tom Coughlin's and Eli Manning's, whenever they get inducted.
With the three coaching wins, I can't

fathom how he'd go in as a Jag. Then add the small thing about his daughter being married to a full-career and 2x SB winning Giant ... I have a feeling when it's said and done, he'll bleed blue. He also evolved as a coach QUITE a bit in New York.
He'd go in as a member of the Hall of Fame.
