for the scouts out there what do you see? Is it lack of strength? clearly it's not lack of sizea, he is a big big guy, but why can't he get any movement in the run game?
Jerry is a strange case - you'd almost expect him to be the opposite of what he is. A strong forward run blocker who struggles to anchor himself in pass pro. But obviously thats not the case.
I certainly haven't spent time analyzing him or keying on him enough to know the reason but it does seem strange to me that he struggles so much as a run blocker. I feel like he should be better than he is.
He looks like a monster run blocker, just a gigantic powerful human being. I know he doesn't appear to be mentally sharp in terms of picking up blitzes and stunts and what not, but to have a fierce run blcoker like him i think ould make a world of difference. We have some really big bodies on this o-line, we should be able to get more of a push.

He's pretty bad. They signed him because they had no other option at the time. I'm hoping Fluker takes his job. I know he has his faults as well but I' m tired of watching defensive tackles in our backfield.
I get it, but with Fluker, it's the reverse problem. He has the power and ability to thrive as a run blocker but his pass pro is very shaky. I want to see us push forward and open holes for the runners but I also don't want to see Eli get killed.

based off the past few seasons is that he gets beat off the snap and doesnt make initial contact until contacted first. that leads to less leverage / higher pad height

I think they both aren't starter quality so while I can understand your position people are suggesting benching Jerry because Reese and his staff seem to be almost incapable of building this OL. Praying this OL is just mediocre.
