A few days back, Sandy Alderson said Robert Gsellman needed to pitch better during his rehab. Gsellman replied: I dont really care."
Now I don't know the context but Carig 100% seems to imply it was a prickly/negative response from Gsellman with the follow-up

There's no "if." He did say that.
I'd like to hear more about this
-Thompson HR/Double
-Ryder Ryan 2 innings 2 hits 0 runs 1 walk 1 k
-Bautista 1 perfect 2 k's. 98-99
-Callahan 6 IP, 9 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 9 K (nice K rate, 12 baserunners not good but it's LV... they almost "have to" call him up in Sept.)

Asked about Sandy Alderson's comment that he needed to pitch better to return to Mets, Robert Gsellman replied: "I don't really care." #Mets
Like I said I'm not at all concerned right now. Just saw the stat and it was eyepopping (not that you needed a stat to tell you that).
He's fun to watch though. Kid is going to be a stud.
Re Rosario/Smith, realistically i'm just hoping they continue to flash their talents (especially on D) and not look overwhelmed. Don't want them to have to go back down at any point.

He's got a much bigger frame than I realized and his power is pretty impressive. His swing on the homers the other way kind of remind me of skinny a-rod way back (I am not saying he is going to be a-rod, just that his swing is similar).
I don't know if other teams have similar issues with players (I'm sure they do to some degree) but it just seems like nobody is ever on the same page in this organization.
I really don't know how to fix it but this team lost me with the Robles "pinched genitals" tweet. Why on earth would you give that as a reason for the nation to see? It's just a microcosm of how poorly run and out of touch this Front Office is.

Jorge Alfaro's first @MLB HR was the hardest hit HR by a #Phillies player all year.
Huge pure tools but hasn't hit like people expected
He's going to retire, they aren't going to pay him for not managing. Now they can go through the "process" (of seeing who will take the least amount of money to manage this team).
1. No reason to pay 2 managers in a "lost" season
2. No real upside to embarrassing him right now. He's gone in 6 weeks.
maybe they'll bring back the corpse of Art Howe.
Art Howe and Terry Collins are the same person.

Can't wait for the next uninspiring manager... yay Mets!

LOL, they are- Art Howe is like the result of Collins "leveling up" - it's his 2nd form.
Won't say it is being taken out of context. Or defend him. But he was asked what he thought about Aldersons comments. Basically he was saying he hadn't heard his comments until then, the comments don't bother him ('don't care') and that he needs to finish the season strong to build towards next year. Bad choice of words, no doubt. But this isn't "dysfunction"

I agree, it isn't a sign of organizational dysfunction. Alderson has every right and obligation to put pressure on Gsellman to pitch better. And even if he was responding to a question, he is a professional athlete, and has to respond better. Not a big deal, and I'm sure he'll learn from it.

This is all on him. Sandy is right, he does need to pitch better. I get that he is frustrated, but he has to realize how bad this makes him look.

If that's how it really happened then it's really a gross misrepresentation from writers. Getting tired of writers doing this.
What's the Mets' culture been? Shitty owners, incompetent medical staff, and dumb players that act like they own the town before they accomplish anything.
Being a Mets fan is a trying existence.

The Cardinals are class of the NL.
The Mets are like the Chargers of the MLB. The Wilpons are in over their heads

Sandy Alderson on David Wright: "I don't know how many answers he will have or we will have through the end of this season." #Mets
Basically, Sandy Alderson convinced ownership to go a little over budget this year with promise if didn't work out he would cut back #mets
I'm absolutely not a fan who says the team has to spend, especially not for the sake of spending, and I've said multiple times the 2018 off-season makes more sense to spend than the upcoming 2017 off-season, but this is some bullshit right here.
Sandy should be free to set payroll where he feels it should be in order to field a competitive team IMO.
Now think about whether or not you'd say to a reporter or reporters that an athlete on your team has to do better.
Is it an issue of them not thinking Gsellman isn't trying?
I have to imaging just about any young athlete is TRYING, and maybe sometimes TOO MUCH, especially if frustrated by injury.
Just don't understand how such a statement is productive at all as a GM.
Crossing fingers that he can throw to first better than he throws to second...
Now I realize getting someone from even Albany or Binghamton (for example) for tonight's game is unlikely (though certainly not impossible), but this is one reason Vegas sucks. Someone will need to be on a cross country flight (Cecchini?) if these injuries are not minor.

Wow I didn't see this.
This team really tests my patience. There's a reason why they're never good long-term like the better franchises in baseball. We get one good year - 2 if we're lucky and that's it. 99 and 00.. 06... 2015/16.. when was the last time the Mets were actually good for 3 consecutive years? 30 years ago? Has to be.
Fucking pathetic.
