NFT: Scalping at Citi Field?

pierce58 : 8/16/2017 9:25 am
I'm a Yankee fan who is thinking of attending the game tonight, but tickets aren't cheap on stubhub, seatgeek, etc.

Do any of you Mets fans who frequent Citi Field typically have any luck in buying tickets in the parking lot or any specific area by the stadium before the game?
Are fake tickets popular around the stadium?

I obviously know the basic risks of scalping, but just curious if anyone who frequents Mets games has any recommendations/warnings about buying tickets at the stadium.

Thanks in advance. I swear I'm not one of those obnoxious yankee fans.

I don't have any particular spot to recommend but if you go, you're guaranteed to run into a bunch of people selling tickets.

StubHub is a safer bet but if you want to roll the dice, you'll run into a lot of people selling.
I wouldn't buy a ticket like that now

Too easy to print out 50 copies of one or fake it, etc...
yeah it has gotten more risky

I'd never buy a ticket outside of MSG, those guys only sell fakes, but I've had plenty of success buying tickets from tailgaters at Giants games in the meadowlands. It certainly is a risk though...
I'm curious...

is scalping still illegal in NY/NJ? they changed the law here (St. Louis City) a few years ago...my office is only a few blocks from Busch and all you see around the stadium on game day are ticket buyers/sellers...
If you buy a ticket from a random in front of the stadium,

you should see if the seller will walk in with you. Most won't agree to it but if they do, you can confirm that the ticket is legit.

Stubhub prices should also drop a bit as it gets closer to game time.
ticket scalping is obselete

Go on stubhub. No reason to scalp at stadium. The fee and slight premium on price on stubhub are worth the risk of a fake ticket or any issues you may have. There are much less scalpers outside stadiums these days, but yes, you will find one if that is the direction you want to take.
