NFT: iPhone call blocking app?

trueblueinpw : 8/16/2017 1:26 pm
Been getting pounded by unknown number calls on my iPhone. Apparently there's nothing the cell phone company can do. I did the thing where I added unknown contact with 000-000-0000 number but calls are still coming through. Looking at App Store for call blocking program but some seem suspect themselves. Anyone have any suggestions for a good call blocking app for iPhone?
Blocking #s is a built in feature

Go to Phone > Recents, find the number in the list, click the i circle icon on the right, and scroll down. At the bottom: tap Block this Caller
Also, I realize that doesn't help you with getting new calls, but

It's something at least.
You can start with

The National "Do Not Call List" for cell phones. It will stop some, but there will still be many that ignore it and call anyway (not to mention offshore telemarketers and scammers)
Most of these calls come via the internet from overseas

And they spoof their phone number so it's different all the time.

The only way to completely block them is to only accept calls from your contact list. But of course you could miss important calls as a result.
I've blocked at least

500 numbers - without success.

Calls still come, credit cards, free cruise, install solar power. I'm on the don't call registry but to what use?

This really needs to stop.
With an iPhone, is there

any way to detect/uncover a number that reads "called ID blocked?"

Been getting some of those ... would like to know where they're coming from, if possible. You can't seem to block a call when there's no number to block.

They offer an app called CALL PROTECT or something similar. That and blocking individual numbers helps.

Also get a google voice number or similar for when you have to give a company your number. Once you provide your cell # there's no backing out lol
I've heard good things about Hiya

Nice! I'm going to give this a try. Can't believe att didn't recommend when I called. They just offered to change my number. Appreciate all the BBI tech support.
TMobile has a feature called Scam Block

I recently turned the Scam Block on as I have TMobile and I have had a rapid reduction in these type of calls. Highly recommend.

Has anybody had it where there iphone has rapidly changing battery power status?

I've had it where it will sit at 90/100% for awhile, then out of nowhere jump down to 60%.
I have had it where I am at 40%, and within 5 minutes, 15%.

Shecky, used that app and it already stopped the annoying calls I was getting from 202 area code automatically. One other call got through but I reported that as SPAM and blocked. Its a pretty cool app. Thank you!
