Sounds Mets-like though.
Breaking: Mets have scratched Wilmer Flores and Jose Reyes to injuries. Travis d'Arnaud will play his first career game at 3B as a result.

Yeah, you are on double secret probation...RP is on quintuple secret probation, but disregards everyone!
Amazing how all Mets pitchers look alike.
Everyone except me is on notice tonight.
At the end of the day, the usual result.

I don't think Cespedes even turned and Rosario barely turned.
Although I don't like swinging at the first pitch when you're batting 8th in an NL park with the pitcher coming up.
Cheapo.
Suck it, losers.
Suck it, losers.
Yo, let's trade straight up. Man for man. Let's go.
If only the rest of the team wrre pounding this AAA loser like Judge is. No one makes terrible pitchers look good like the Yankees .
Kind of funny to think in over their 100 year history, on the first day of names being worn on the back of their jerseys, one of those names will read "HEAD."
Amazing.
Lagares is a nice CF. Kid can really turn and burn.

You guys would have to throw in a bit for me to think about it.
Judge + Severino will at least get me to pick up the phone.

Judge+Severino+Gray ?
You can start building that monument for Rene in the park you've got now because he's going to wind up there.

Thanks for your magnanimity, good sir.
Sick throw from Sanchize.
In the last week he looks like 2016 Sanchez. This is amazing stuff.
Hard swing/whiff, busting down the line, diving for a ball in the OF.. it's like there's a 70/30 chance he's coming up lame if he does any of those 3 things. I don't understand it.
I'm not impressed. I thought I read when the Yanks got him is that he gives you length. Not seeing it. I rather Cessa pitching than this guy. I can't believe they originally sent down Montgomery for him.

Cessa barely gets thru 4, now.
Yep..
And Gary did the same thing, Meatball down the middle.

I understand doing it. Sometimes it just seems excessive or inelegant.
But, you have to mix it up sometimes or else you just get shelled.
Headley is finally a good starting 3B again

when pitching. Get up 0-2 with FBs then throw 3 straight not even close balls. The come back with a FB to get the out. Why waste 2 or three pitches?

Meh, not every time and why waste three? Yeah you try to get them to swing at a ball off the plate. But at least get it to sniff the plate.

Pitching is virtually never as black and white as you're making it sound.

Why not? Because maybe you'd like to get thru 6? It is a waste to throw 3 not even close balls. They don't need to be in the other batters box if attempting to fool or entice a swing. The good sliders start on the plate and dive away.

Not trying to be black and white. Talking about being efficient. The Braves always taught their pitchers to throw strikes. Up/down, in/out. I think this waste pitch thing started late 70s.
I'm not against off the plate, just a foot off the plate. And yes they just throw a bad pitch, or it doesn't break.

and always will. Why would you throw an easy strike 0-2?

If pitchers could always throw it exactly as they wanted precisely where they want it, there would be 200 cy young winners a year.
0-2 ok. Not 1-2 and again at 2-2. And yes the idea is to conserve by getting the out without going 3-2 after being up 0-2.
I mean....

you have a higher probability getting an out throwing out of the zone 0-2 than throwing a strike. The goal is to get the out, not conserve pitches.

You are making it seem like pitchers choose to work a full count. I don't know what to tell you.
well a solid two inches anyway...but still a ball.

I remember it well. It went over Shea bridge and probably out the bullpen gate.

I guess I've been in Cutler mode with the Mets longer than I realized this year.
Well done assholes.
Somebody named Brebbia. Was up 1-2 on Betts and threw 2 sliders in the dirt and Betts nailed a 3-2 pitch.
Horrible..
What are these brown knots of which you speak?
They are both very young in a line-up with little protection (teams are not worried about facing Rene Rivera or the pitcher's spot) so way too soon to right them off. Now if the Mets had a line-up of Rosario-Conforto-Smith-Cespedes since they are not going anywhere this year, they may get more pitches to hit
This is a salient point. Cardinal fans are assholes. Frequently , drunk assholes. The myth of their greatness is the delusion of Costas, who pulled a Goebels and just kept repeating the line until it became accepted as the truth. I don't get out there as much as I used to. When I do, I must congratulate them for losing the Rams . The Blues remain blue. The closest they ever got was the Gary Unger days. But, remember, Cardinal fans are assholes . By and large as Coughlin used to say, with a fiendish consistency .
I'm a Cubs fan, too, so the loss did provide me with a modicum of joy although I was rooting for them because the Yankees are chasing and the Cubs don't deserve it if they can't win a mediocre division .
But what set the few Cardinal fans I've known above most of the asshole pack is the attitude that when they've won, they've somehow "done it right", as if there was a purity with the Cardinals winning not present with other teams.
So fuck them, twice when they choke away a win in Fenway
You truly are a gem. Your eloquent usage of profanity and vulgarity inspires me.
Do you watch veep? You'd love it.

I went to Sunday's Yankees vs. Red Sox game at Yankee stadium with my brother in law. My brother in law is a Red Sox fan and he was wearing his Sox hat the entire time. I was very surprised at how well we were treated by the Yankee fan base. There was some friendly ribbing but there was not a single curse word or angry comment during the entire game.

And I've had similar experience at Fenway...I have lots of buddies from Boston who are die hard Sox fans, and I've been going up to Fenway for games with them for 20 years...regularly wear my Yankee cap, and aside from a few colorful comments here and there, people are generally friendly and enjoy talking baseball.
Actually, the most shit I got in Boston was when I wore my NYG Super Bowl 42 Champions hat back in 2008. They didn't like that none too much:)
I like my drinking as much as the next guy and used to tailgate early when I was a season ticket holder with the Giants. But drinking through the game and two trips to the bathroom per quarter (or more) and returning with more stale flat beer never made sense to me. Especially annoying week after week with the same AHs going back and forth to drain the beer and refill continuously through the game. At least I got some squats in....
