NFT: Anyone use Moviepass?

tbonfig : 8/17/2017 12:02 pm
The service just cut its monthly rate from $50/month to $9.95/month. The concept is that you get to see one movie per day in theaters. You need to be near the theater and then select the movie time and Moviepass will fund the debit card they give you and you use that to purchase your ticket.

Curious on anyone's experience with this?
It has gone viral

just recently, I was wondering if it was a scam.

Movie theaters will bitch and moan, but at the end of the day it makes more sense to buy one of the passes if you go to the movies at least once a month.

Once they have a huge portion of the market, they will then be able to theoretically badger the theaters down in price because they are buying bulk amount of tickets. Should be interesting to see what happens.

If its legit, I think I'm going to join.
Thinking about it

ideally I'd want a pass for myself and one for the wife. Is there a limit per household?

I didn't see anything about # per household. They are probably banking on the fact that most family's will want 2-4 subscriptions. She probably just needs her own account. M

More info. in the link below. It seems like a great deal for many people, if they like the theater experience.
Is MoviePass’s new $10-a-month movie ticket deal really as epic as it seems? - ( New Window )
Good deal

120 a year means you save money if u go more than eight times a year , assuming $15 movie prices
One limitation

You can only use it on regular 2D showings. Cannot be used on any enhanced showings: 3D, IMAX, etc. Many of the big films have few 2D showings available.
