NFT: FF - Draft Prep Question

Mellowmood92 : 8/17/2017 1:22 pm
12 team, 1/2 PPR, non-keeper, non-auction league.

I have the 2nd pick (so that starts me off with 2, 23, 26, etc.)

This seemed like a great position to be in last week with a toss-up between David Johnson, Bell & Zeke Elliott. However with Elliot's suspension and Bell's hold-out I'm not so sure. So i ask the BBI FF guru's.. who are you taking at #2, assuming David Johnson goes #1 overall?

I'm still really inclined to take Bell, regardless of his hold-out, because i really don't believe he will pass up $12M or that the Steelers will rescind their offer. Does his status scare you guys off?

My "safe" pick is Odell..

I'd go WR anyway

but that's just me
I'd go Bell

Take Bell.

Shefter reporting he will not hold out into reg season.

I hate the long wait from 2
pjcas18 : 8/17/2017 1:59 pm : link
to 23/26 you see a lot of talent fly off the board.

Can you trade picks? Say back to 5?

If so you could get one of Bell, DJ, Beckham, Brown, or Jones and pick up a 3rd maybe?

if not I go Bell and don't think twice.

Very few RB's will put up the points Bell does, WR's are more plentiful.
the long wait from 2 to 23

is one of the reasons I'm glad I play in auction drafts.
I love picking at the end of the round.
robbieballs2003 : 8/17/2017 3:02 pm : link
A lot of times I have multiple players I like and picking in the middle means I have to make that decision. Picking at the emd of the round means I just get the two best players left and not have to think twice about.

Now, most year I think it sucks picking in the beginning of the first. However, in one league I have the first pick. I am picking DJ and the talent at 24/25 is still awesome.

I guess the argument though, if you trust your drafting is would you rather have 1 top 5 player and 3 top 25 players or two top 15 players (for example).

If you know what I mean.

And it depends on the year, some years there are 4 or 5 "cut above" players who are elite. and that number helps me decide where I'd like to draft.

But I've won from everywhere pretty much, so I don't really have a preference (and I've lost from everywhere).
We don't trade picks.. although that would be a nice thing to consider

for next season.

I also hate waiting for that 2nd/3rd turnaround, but i do like the nearly back-to-back picks for the rest of the draft.

I think D-Johnson will be the consensus 1st pick, although in this league, people to tend to jump for those top WR's.. last year Brown, OBJ, Julio Jones, Hopkins went 1-4 (in that order). So i wouldn't put it past the guy with the #1 pick to grab either Brown or OBJ.

I think my preference this year is to pick in the beginning of the first. The last 2 or 3 years it was at the middle to end of the first.

I understand exactly what you are saying. My previous post was just what I prefer in general. This post is how I feel about this draft.
Rate these late rd 2 rbs that may/should be there
superspynyg : 8/17/2017 4:34 pm : link
1 point ppr. I have pick 4 in 12 team and I'm taking either OBJ or Brown

Miller
Fournette
Gurley (small chance)
Crowell
Gurley and Crowell are kind of even for me.
robbieballs2003 : 8/17/2017 5:03 pm : link
I need to see more of the Rams in the preseason. I would normally put Fournette next but he has a foot injury and foot injuries are scary so until that is clarified or he is healed I will put him last.

This year me too, though anywhere in the top 5 is fine with me, you know you'll get one of DJ, Bell, Brown, Beckham or Jones. Hopefully no more injuries or suspensions.
I piked at the end of the first round in one league last year..

I picked 9th last year and got AJ Green and Allen Robinson (only posting my non-keeper league, since keeper is messed up). I had a lot of work to do after that to be competitive.

McCoy in the 3rd and Murray in the 4th bailed me out.

Zeke went 7th in one league, 3rd in the other (out of 12 in both - 3rd was a keeper league though).
