the reviews that came out after reviewers were allowed to watch the first couple were not great. But you cant base a show on 2 episodes so i wasnt too worried about those early reviews. Looking forward to watching a couple tonight.
My husband and I have enjoyed all of the Netflix Marvel series and have been waiting for The Defenders. We are going on a camping trip today for a long weekend so won't be able to watch in until we get back but we can't wait. I like how Claire basically is the thread that links them all together.
I've liked all of them except Iron Fist. I think it is mostly the actor but I just didn't enjoy that series.
I think the actor just didn't look the part. IMO< Iron Fist was - OK.
Looking forward to more Daredevil & Punisher series.
Daredevil season one was excellent. Season two was meh until the punisher arrived which was the best part of season 2. I look forward to the punisher series.
Interested to see how the actor performs in this new series. There was a lot of blame made towards his own series directors and producers for the choppy cut up they did with season 1 of Iron Fist.
This is a new production team he's working with and if his acting and overall performance doesn't improve, then it's time for Marvel to move on without him or just make him a minor character in this universe.
I struggled to get through its paper-thin Hand-of-doom plot. Considering this is supposed to be the culmination of 5 seasons/series, the writers dropped every ball on this series.
After ep 4. Really slow start. Kind of weird how theyve made Iron Fist the central character, or leader, considering he's been the weakest of the series.
Was only 8 episodes. Stil stretched put but not as badly as it would have been at 13. I think all the rest could have been done in 8 and be better for it.
Still hate the Danny Rand character. Just not as good at being good. For a superhero whose thing is martial arts, he's the worst martial artist on the show.
Best characters for me are Luke and Jessica. The rest are flat.
The ending is kind of dumb and stretched out, considering we know the other projects greenlit or in production. It whatever.
Oddly, one person is highlighted in the action sequences leading to the climax and that person is a bit player. That is pretty telling for the while series for me.
We did plausible/not plausible in fantasy to death in the GoT thread but some apples here as well.
I still thought Iron Fists fight scenes looked slow just like in the stand alone IF series while Daredevils fight choreography looked incredible. Kristen Ritter killed it again as Jessica Jones. I would put her above Gal Gadot as my favorite female super hero
and thought he was alright in Defenders, but do agree he is the weakest link.
Jessica Jones absolutely kills it, she is my favorite character in the Netflix corner of the MCU.
I am looking forward to a Luke Cage/Iron Fist Heroes For Hire team up, and would also be open to a Misty Knight/Colleen Wing Daughters of the Dragon team up. If I were in charge of those series, I would be scheduling the those shows now while also looking to develop Blade, Moon Knight, and some other street level characters for the next phase.
Just incredibly bad casting there and I can see why the Game of Thrones show runners limited the dialog that Loras Tyrell had on the show.
Jones as Danny Rand really came off as unlikable and he was really whiny a lot and threw a lot of tantrums in both series. Not sure if that's how the writers wanted to portray the character or just that Finn Jones was a bad actor but I'm guessing on the latter.

It wasnt bad. I kind of agree w questionable casting choice He seems pretty whiny for a super hero. Almost unlikable at times.
And they should have found some way to link in the Punisher.
Having one of the Sand Snakes around doesn't seem to help Iron Fist either.

Pretty weird to explain.
