NFT: Yanks thread I guess that answers the question about

superspynyg : 8/18/2017 8:54 am
whether NY is a Yanks or Mets town. 4 game Sweep!! Even with the 4 game win we still have not gained ground on the cheatin Shit Sox. We have a 3.5 game lead in the wild card race.

Weekend series against the Sux. Montgomery vs Pomeranz. Montgomery has been pitching well and just needs to keep us close. Tomorrow is Sale...UGHHH! But Sunday its Gray vs Fister which favors us.

We need 2 out of 3 here.

Both Castro and Holliday are starting rehab assignments. Bird is already playing AAA. CC is back tomorrow. We are getting healthy at the right time.

Bird watch ----

Bird was 2 for 4 with an rbi last night for SWB
Gained
Kyle in NY : 8/18/2017 8:57 am : link
1.5 games on the Sox
Looking forward to getting Castro back

Holliday too assuming he'd be fully healthy but Castro is more important for this team.
What is the outlook for Montgomery
robbieballs2003 : 8/18/2017 8:59 am : link
In terms of staying in the rotation?
So happy they swept

I've never had a big problem with Mets fans but my god I was at the game on Wednesday what a bunch of annoying morons.

If he balls out vs the Sox he has a low chance.
Sev
Gray
Tanaka
CC
Garcia
Montgomery
Even though Garcia has not gone more than 5.1 innings and has given up 3 or more in all 3 games he has started. That is what he does.

And if the Cardinals didn't bend right over for the Sawx like they always do, it would have been 2.5

What exactly do you win
pjcas18 : 8/18/2017 9:16 am : link
if the town is officially a Yankees town?

Before I agree to turn it over I need to know the rights and privileges that you as a super fan, get with the town being officially named a Yankees town and you being officially a Yankees fan.

Is it just bragging rights on a NY Giants message board or is there something more like you can ride the subway for free or a discount at the Manhattan Yankees shops?

oh, and by the way congratulations. I'm proud of you.

Well for one, a Mets fan is NOT allowed to talk to a Yankees fan like that. Show a little respect for your big brother.

LOL, actually the Yankees fans in my family are my father and YOUNGER brother and as expected I'm the successful (and handsome if I don't mind saying so) one and the only Mets fan in the family.

Coincidence? I think not.

save that for sweeping the Red Sox and passing them in the East
Team misses Castro
Marty866b : 8/18/2017 9:46 am : link
Castro is a legit hitter who can hit good pitching and has some pop. Toe has done a nice job and is a very good utility player but we need Castro's bat. Bird,if he gives the Yankees anything, would be a nice surprise at this point.
We need a legit RH DH -
Del Shofner : 8/18/2017 10:19 am : link
Either Gardy or Ells can DH lefty but we want Sanchez catching and not DH'ing.

Is a good hitter when hitting well, but Torreyes has given us everything you can ask for a utility player, Castro needs to be ready or we'll be downgrading, if we get the Castro before his injury then we are good. He has been a real up and down player, so I guess I'm a little concerned when Torreyes has been a real sparkplug for the team.

Just so I am clear...the Braves fan before you said something about eating a d and you said its enough to make you a Braves fan?

I'm not judging, just curious if this is accurate. Thanks.

OK enough Mets schadenfreude...nice recover week for the Yanks pitching, after a shit series against Boston...although the Mets lineup is Conforto and a bunch of guys, need to take the success with a grain of salt

You'll have to ask your boy "Thor" or whatever cute nickname he's going by nowadays.
Meh...as a Yanks fan it meant nothing to me that it was the Mets
Stu11 : 8/18/2017 12:12 pm : link
We needed to win 4 godamn games. I don't care if it was vs. the Toledo Mud Hens. We started hitting too which is huge. To gloat about beating a Mets team that is a shell of it's opening day self due to all the injuries is ridiculous. Who the hell cares what town it is? What the hell does that even mean? When a team is on a great run in this town it is "their town" because everyone is talking about them. As a dieheart Yanks fan since my youth and Thurman Munson I cringe when Yanks fans have to mention "we have 27 WC's and you don't!!!" Come on grow up.

Refreshing. Thank you.

The Mets fucking suck this year, guys - this isn't a big accomplishment.

There's always going to be buzz around any NY team that is winning and having a good season. Most fans aren't like the majority of us - there's a huge contingent of fans here and everywhere that lose interest when their team sucks and are suddenly die-hards when they're good.

I never understood the obsession with "THIS IS OUR TOWN"

It's whoever's town is winning at the time - it's really as simple as that.

That is an answer to DeGrom or was it Syndegard who stated shortly after the season started that this is now a Mets Town.

I think you Mets fans are swinging and missing badly on this. Nobody really cares about who the hells town it is. These numerous posts the past few days are sarcastic retorts to your ace pitcher flapping his guns when the season started. They are mocking him, not Mets fans or anyone else.
