What's one goal you want to accomplish that others may not know about? Something that given time and effort, you possibly can accomplish in your lifetime.
I would love to write a book one day. I don't particularly care about finding sucess as a writer since there are hundreds of thousands of writers, who are far more accomplished than I ever will be. I mainly want to put my ideas/thoughts in writing to share with others (wow...that sounded arrogant AF).
Disclaimer: Just trying to gather information on you guys for nefarious purposes
That and to provide my kids the mentoring and financial support to give them a shot at Ivy league schools if they want - especially now that I have seen first-hand the type of launching pad it is for careers/success.
Make the perfect bloody mary (i've been told it's perfect but I need to keep at it)
Learn how to surf.
Snowboard the perfect run. (close but not quite)
I specifically mentioned something that given time and effort you can POSSIBLY accomplish. Not something that'll remain a dream forever.
Now, having gone through 2 stem cell transplants, bone lesions on hips, ribs, and skull, and just coming off of multi-level cervical spine fusion from vertebrae collapsing from the cancer..and near death complication afterwards
My one goal, before my time is up, and in honor of my coach (whom had passed away from a fall last year, and few others important to me, I'd like to run and finish one more marathon. my goal..no one believes I can except myself of being able to do so.
So building out my own website (not sure yet what the content would be) and learning website infrastructure would be my goal in the short term.
Long term, be the best father I can possibly be. Nothing else matters, all things considered.

We've all followed your ordeal and witnessed your amazing determination and attitude. Whole others may not believe that you can accomplish your goal of running one more marathon, I believe that if anyone can, it's you, micky! Here's to wishing you continued blessing and your journey back to your marathon goal.

Best of luck to you Micky. Not sure if you've heard of Matt Long but I heard him speak a couple years ago at a work conference. He was a 9/11 responder with the fire department who was also an Iron Man. He ended up getting hit by a bus while riding his bike to work in 2005 and almost died and almost lost both legs. Hearing his journey back to not only walking but completing in an Iron Man was incredible. I have the book in this link but haven't had a chance to read yet.

You should have been more clear!
That's awesome. Good luck!
Write an engaging and enjoyable to read book on the Reconstruction Period in US history. Its a crucial and complicated period for understanding modern US history. However, most scholarship on he topic is often laborious reading.

Wow! I hope you do it! Is there a specific race you're training for?
Regarding the OP, my goal is to be half the man Micky seems to be. Life is a gift, I need to more aware of this fact.
Which one?
The riding mower may never happen but #2 is looking good.
My whole life has just been putting one step in front of the other. I mean objectives, yeah, like finish school/grad school, get a job, etc. But nothing that I have ever said that "before I die I would like to..." or even "one day I want to...", that I can think of.
I just realized that I am a plodder at best and maybe even just a drifter. Very sad. Thanks a hell of a lot, Ronnie.
Suck it Ronnie - ( New Window )
You made me chuckle Brett
That is great. Congrats and good luck

Other ones include:
Climb a couple of the seven summits - Kilimanjaro, Vinson in Antarctica, maybe Denali. Definitely not Everest which is way too ethically dubious.
Play guitar half as good as John Frusciante
Masturbate 24 times in a 24 hour period
All very attainable, but held back (like most of us) by the need to spend so much time making a living.

My prayers are with you champ, and I know you will do it !!!!
Will the second may happen...question is whether you'll be on my team or the other team.

Thankfully you've raise three amazing kids despite you being a drifter. So you've got that going for you.
Gen X poster child.
This is mine as well. I'd also add my plan is when I die my children have Fuck You money. Not sure how well those two goals will coincide.
Well, jokes on you, biatch. I wasn't going to write about my expertise (hut burning). I was going to write about my passion (cat breeding).
Every personal story someone tells me with a three some is always two dudes and one girl. Never MFF, lol.
Hahaha
I have a huge passion for Neapolitan pizza.
You mean you hate cheese?
You have no idea how interesting cat breeding is, asshole. I'll be a goddamn New York Times Bestseller.

That would be nice too, but it's up to them to decide what their own goals are for their futures.
Gen X poster child.
That is the creedo my son has lived by his entire life thus far (turns 21 in a few weeks, which technically makes him not Gen X).
His sisters aren't like that, so I'm not chalking it up to terrible parenting. :)

At least that's my interpretation of the movie.

Maybe break par on a legit golf course?
Travel the US - specifically I-10 Jax to LA and I-90 From Boston to Seattle.
For example, I am a published author in my practice area.
What I would love to do is break par playing golf. I'm about 16 strokes away.
..that are so minor why even bother mentioning them - ( New Window )
have 100 people pay to see me play on the opposite coast of where I live
My only regret is we never had children. Not from lack of trying.
Obviously was meant for the game thread
The one goal (if you have kids)is to be the best parent possible and set them up for a happy and healthy life.
