didn't know Johnson broke his foot. Thought he was a prime candidate for the PS.
Is there a quota for UVA receivers?

The Steeler staff liked Severin last year. Are his hands really as bad as they looked against the Giants?

In addition to Canaan Severin Giants also signed WR Ed Eagan and waived WR Kevin Snead. Eagan is 5-10 and attended Northwestern State (LA).
Eagan will probably get some PR/KR reps.

Aside from acting as a camp body, he might have a shot if Dwayne Harris gets hurt, since he does some of the same stuff (returns, backup slot WR). His best chance is to stick on the practice squad and then hope for a promotion as injuries hit.
Eagan must have impressed a lot of scouts in college...

...because he keeps getting opportunities without having any pro tape. He signed with Dallas, then Cleveland, then spent most of 2016 in Buffalo and even appeared very briefly on the Bills' active roster. Like every undersized, white slot receiver this decade, he has been compared to Wes Welker - most recently by Rex Ryan.

He made some sensational catches at Virginia. Didn't think of him as a bad hands guy then. Don't know what the problem has been in Pittsburgh.
