Pat Leonard Bad news: Keenan Robinson is back in the concussion protocol #Giants

JT Thomas' value just quintupled

Good thing Jerry/FO restructured him yesterday...
Hopefully Robinson is ok
Larry in Pencilvania : 8/18/2017 6:00 pm : link
And Goodson can take the next step. Also hope Munson can provide depth
I would like to see Calvin Munson

Get some time
He got the concussion over 2 weeks ago

I'm curious if this means that he came back too soon OR is just more prone/sensitive now.
Robinson gets kind of lost in the big names on D

but not having him on 3rd down can be the kind of thing that causes the defense to regress a little. Not catastrophic, but noticeable.
I would think it might be time for Keenan to rethink

Football...
Don't know much about this , but back in protocol that quickly?

It doesn't look like he has concussion history. Maybe it's a precaution. Maybe he just isn't ready.

Or...maybe you're right. Let's hope the docs do right by him.
It could be as simple as headaches returing
Tuckrule : 8/18/2017 6:31 pm : link
It doesn't mean he had another concussion.
I agree the symptoms probably came back
DavidinBMNY : 8/18/2017 6:54 pm : link
He needs to focus on his health.

If anything for his long term health it's good we went back in if he wasn't right.

Without being overly dramatic, if this doesn't clear the best thing is an extended or complete break from the game.
JT Thomas

Is not a suitable replacement for Robinson. No where near the coverage skills.
Robinson is a cover lb
ChicagoMarty : 8/18/2017 9:57 pm : link
Someone else needs to step up in that area

How about Pinkins?

Has the size of a lb, the speed of a db and is used to covering TEs and backs since he has been playing safety

This actually isn't a crazy idea - Mark Barron made this transition quite well a couple years ago. The problem is that Pinkins doesn't move fluidly and might have trouble swiveling in higher traffic areas in the middle of the field.
This is one of those
BigBlueWhale : 8/18/2017 10:46 pm : link
under the radar injuries that could have a big impact. He's the MIKE LB in the nickel and dime packages and we really don't have anyone else who plays that position

Exactly. The problem is that Pinkins' biggest weakness is the task you're asking him to do.
Who does a cover lb cover?
ChicagoMarty : 8/19/2017 8:34 am : link
TEs and Rbs mostly.

Pinkins might look a step slow covering wr's but covering TEs and Rbs might be right in his wheelhouse.

Perhaps Spags elects going more with a Big Three Safety package with Pinkins taking on the TE
Pinkins might be stiff
grizz299 : 8/19/2017 9:04 am : link
for a cornerback, but the standards are very different than for a LB'er.
And if Bromley / Tomlinson work out and Goodson is stronger than shepard was ....then we have enough bulk up front to afford an ex Safety as the WIL.
Pinkins should be seeing TE's not WR's. I think that's one of those crazy moves that might make us better. When the core's this strong everything works.
