When the Fan got rid of him back in the early 90's and then again when they brought on Evan Roberts to replace him in the 2000's he went down to Philly. He still does Philly radio because he can't get full time in New York aside from weekends on the Fan.

WFAN should split up the afternoon into 2 shows, like ESPN radio. Whether people like Francesa or not, filling 5.5 hours every weekday is really hard to pull off. 1-4, then 4-630. That would give them a chance to try out a bunch of people too and see who sticks

Gov Crispy Kreme on the FAN would have been an epic fail of New Coke and the Edsel magnitude. I can't believe he was being considered seriously. I think they were just exploiting him during the summer vacation months. His show would have degenerated into a stream of Mike from Montclair calls berating him for everything under the Sun.

As to Mike s successor, at least for me, it will be very difficult to replace him, especially on Sunday morning during football season.
