I haven't seen a lot of preseason action, but so far it looks like the Jets and Jags might royally screw the pooch this year.
I remember a few seasons ago, watching our team, the year JPP blew up his hand, you knew that team was going to be bad, prior to the accident. The roster was just not competitive.
Which teams have you been able to see in pre-season that have you thinking this team is contending for the #1 2018 NFL draft pick?
Indy
Baltimore
SF
The Jags have a ton of talent but having problems at the QB position could really derail their season.
The Rams look like they are headed in the right direction.
The Bills could go either way.
Cleveland could be another year away from putting it together.
Teams with no qb in place need a lot of things to go right in order to win 10 games. The jets will blow even if they play above expectations.

Four easy wins for NE, you can't help but wonder if that's not significant in making NE the team they are.
Imagine our schedule for the past decade if we had those two instead of Dallas and Philly,
bet it would mean about four more playoff experiences and once you're in the playoffs,,,,,,,,,,!!!
I mean a team like the Panthers has looked putrid, but Cam hasn't suited up and McCaffery had a really nice looking TD run when they were losing by 2 TD's.
While this is likely true, their likely starting QB has played one series, and led them to a TD. Hackenburg is fucking brutal, a total waste of a 2nd round pick (and some blame Reese for trading up for Nassib!). If I'm NYJ, I cut bait on Hack, and carry McCown and Petty, who hasn't looked terrible. I doubt they do it, but they should.

Even in summer of 2015 when everyone was killing the Giants saying they were dreadful they still competed all season long. They didn't get blown out. They could have won 10 games that year even though they most definitely deserved to be 6-10.

Indeed. But just think back to teams like the 97 Giants. They all but set records for turnover differential. Didn't suffer major injuries and won a boat load of close games all year long. Still only won 10 games and promptly lost their only playoff game.
At least when the QB is in place the potential is there to be great.
It is also what can retard a team's development because it fools the coach into thinking the QB is in place. We were smart enough to move on from Kannell, but was Dak a beneficiary of the OL and the running game, or is he a legit player? Nick Foles couldn't stand up to the test of time, nor could guys like Rob Johnson, Matt Cassel or Brock Osweiler after initial success.
