Anquan Boldin retires

BigBlueDownTheShore : 8/20/2017 8:16 pm
Damn, the Bills are going to be a shit show.
Why would he go out playing for crappy bills
ZogZerg : 8/20/2017 8:19 pm : link
Can't blame him.
Wow
Shecky : 8/20/2017 8:19 pm : link
He worked real hard this offseason, surprised
...

It's for their best.

Every dollar saved and every loss puts them closer to contention. No reason to scrape to be a 6 win team.

Get the QB you want next year and take another crack at it.

Incredibly productive career - always really liked him. Wish him the best going forward.
I always wanted to see him

Suit up for us. When Nicks was in his prime and healthy,he often reminded me of Boldin.
Tyron should try to get
BigBlueDownTheShore : 8/20/2017 8:53 pm : link
Traded to Baltimore or Jax. He's got nothing to throw to.

The Bills should really go for it and get active with Taylor and McCoy. Nothing worse than 6-10 and a pick in the teens.
I have this feeling he isn't done
Tuckrule : 8/20/2017 9:37 pm : link
And he'll up signing on with a contender

He can't if he had a contract w Buff. They would own his rights.

Also Taylor is no great shakes. Not sure why some people think he's some answer.
Tougher than tough
simbapenn : 8/20/2017 11:22 pm : link
He got his face broken on a helmet to helmet hit and played TWO WEEKS LATER! He got 7 plates and 40 screws IN HIS FACE! I remember being just floored that he was playing that soon. He would've looked good in blue. Great career.

Also, apparently that was nearly 10 years ago, so I'm feeling older than dirt.

He played two weeks after this! - ( New Window )

I was at that game. The hit he took was nuts.

I really thought the Giants should have signed him during the free agency orgy of spring 2016, and I stand by that.
Is he a hall of famer?
Mark C : 8/20/2017 11:48 pm : link
Without any knowledge of his career numbers, I'd say yes. Boldin's been a dominant presence at his position for a good number of years. Hope he gets in.

That hit scared the crap out of me. I have no idea how her survived, let alone played a few weeks later. One of the toughest players I have ever seen.
one of my favorite non-Giants ever

After Plax shot himself, I was all about them trading for him.

Hope the toughness be showed on the field doesn't cost him too much in his post-football life.
HOF'er??
grizz299 : 8/21/2017 4:30 am : link
I'd say yes. Never dominant but always good and better than good in the clutch.
One of my favorite non-giants,
Grizz

Just so I can be clear. You think he's a Hofer?
Great
AcidTest : 8/21/2017 8:32 am : link
player. Seems like a HOFer to me, but I leave it to others with better knowledge of his statistics. Certainly tough as can be.

I'd vote for Hall of Very Good but not Hall of Famer.
very good
PaulBlakeTSU : 8/21/2017 1:43 pm : link
but not a Hall of Famer.

TO, Wayne, Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, Randy Moss, Larry Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Steve Smith, and Wes Welker are all yet to be inducted into the Hall. Some haven't retired yet, but there is a long logjam of wide receivers who are more likely to get in than Boldin
