"Scherers draft stock wasnt helped by a season-ending knee injury that required surgery and delayed his preparations for the draft. The MICDS graduate tore the anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament Oct 22 against Middle Tennessee and underwent surgery Nov. 3. He was able to do some testing at MUs pro day but sat out the 40-yard dash and position drills."
prior to his injury, he was getting some good pub as a decent draft prospect...
Michael Scherer was a force to be reckoned with a Mizzou. In his first season alone, he collected 114 tackles (3.5 for a loss), and half-a-sack. In 2015, he neared the same total, adding 93 tackles (9 for loss).
In 2016. Scherer was hit with an injury, when he tore his ACL in late October. Fortunately, the injury hasnt phased his spirit, as he has rehabilitated himself to a point where he is ready to go, should a team want his playmaking abilities.
Considering his recent plight, Scherer may have slid out of the later rounds and is more likely to be taken as an underrated free agent. Considering his size though, a team could take a flyer on him in the later rounds of the draft."
lock this kid up for the year in a practice squad type of situation to get his rights next year. I'm not sure how exactly NFL contract rules work in this situation.

he's about 6'3', 240 lbs...
Anyone they bring in now has a very small chance to make the roster for real - a shot of the PS isn't out of the question.
We will be active for at least 1 LB at the end of camp. I think Herzlich and Robinson are in danger of IR. We are at least 1 LB short.
