With the 6th pick I'm seriously considering Aaron Rogers over AJ Green or Mike Evans.
I know I'm all but guaranteed 28 PTS per game with Rogers, no one in the league can do this. I can get a solid receiver in rd 2 (someone like T.Y, Doug Baldwin, Amari Coope, etc).
I would need to hit on a RB later down the line..
Any thoughts of grabbing a guy like Rogers with the 6th pick?
Thanks
Agreed. A QB in the first round isn't very wise. Unless the WBs name is Wli.
3.Davante Adams/Crabtree/Terelle Pryor
4.Jimmy Graham/Travis Kelce
5.Tevin Coleman/Ameer Abdullah
6.Thomas Rawls/Frank Gore/Spencer Ware
I can't see risking the 6 pick on someone like Gordon or Leshawn McCoy
2. Any room in your league?
LOL !!
Hey, I was in a league one year when someone (I guess his first time ever playing fantasy football) selected the Giants defense with the number one pick in the draft.
Is Rodgers the best fantasy QB? Sure but can you tell me what the PPG difference is between Rodgers and a QB you may draft in the 8th round?
Then, go look at the huge dropoff in fantasy production between a RB or WR you would draft in the first round vs the 8th round.
I was in a league two years ago, where a guy drafted Drew Brees in the 1st, Peyton Manning in the 2nd and and Tom Brady n the 4th, sandwiched in between was Larry Fitzgerald.
He lost in the finals.
It was when Brady was going to be suspended but it was overturned before the season (only to be reinstated the next season).
He wound up trading Brees and Peyton within a couple weeks of the draft, and his team just wasn't that good anyway, but in h2h luck is the biggest reason why people win.
So I wouldn't do it, but it's also not the worst pick on the planet.
I lost games with Cam Newton and Matt Ryan having bad games.
Again, a guy like T.Y or Amari Cooper in Rd 2 will be right on par with someone like Mike Evans who can be inconsistent at times.
Concerned about someone like McCoy or Murray getting injured taking them in rd 1 . Melvin Gordon putting up stinkers. Tevin Coleman is a better runner than Devonta Freeman (IMO) and takes a lot from him
I can honestly say I've been in leagues with Peyton Manning or Tom Brady drafted in the Top 3 with those teams winning the league

I wouldn't hate Rodgers but I'd take Evans. I think your off saying he's inconsistent. He gets a ton of volume and is essentially matchup proof. He probably even gets a bump up considering they have Jackson to take some coverage off him. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if WRs like Evans and Beckham have better fantasy seasons than AB and Julio this year.
At QB there's viable options throughout the draft who won't put you in too much of a hole vs elite QBs -- and they have upside to be just as good. I like Marriotta a lot this year and Cam could bounce back.
Like others have said, there's a huge drop from the elite guys at WR/RB. After say Jordy, all the WRs have warts. Hilton is going to be high variance week to week and Cooper may not even be the top producing WR on his team. Guys like Alshon, Hopkins, and Fitz etc have risks associated w them.
