I mean, an ankle sprain can still be pretty significant. But like we saw with Shepard, it can also be pretty short term.
Just hope the x rays are clean and then hope he's ready to go for Dallas. This could have been worse. If his foot was really planted in there, he could have torn ligaments easily.
His knee actually bends the way it is supposed to upon being hit. His foot gets caught in the turf and it looks like a great deal of stress was placed on the ankle. I don't think it is the knee. Hopefully an ankle sprain he can come back from in a few weeks.
You can't hit anyone high as a safety. So what is the guy supposed to do? He's got to tackle him.
His only choice is to chop him down low to avoid the penalty.
It's not dirty. It's a product of the game.
I agree with this. Beckham's hit wasn't dirty. As fast as the game moves, you can't put so much emphasis on lowering the strike zone, and then bitch when a WR takes a hit around the knees (on a completed pass, no less).
with a high-ankle sprain. It was either going to be a knee injury or a mild ankle sprain. High-sprains are not only painful, but player's often believe they have broken a leg when it happens.
it was ankle sprain. He was pissed he got hit like that
but if it was a slight ankle sprain why was he on his knees in locker room acting like he was really in alot of pain? Was that primodonna act knowing camera was o him? or is he really hurt

Haha, talk about reaching...
No different than Shepard in practice, there's a lot on the line for such a meaningless game. It has to be frustrating knowing that you can lose everything in an instant even if the injury doesn't seem horrific. What's so hard to understand about this?
Then tell me you're confident that he's good cuz he's walking on the sideline. There's nothing compromised at all? Also fat man, you don't have to respond to every post on the website. You're allowed to be a loser outside this site
Watch the replay and tell me how you feel about the diagnosis. Fatman, go eat some bojangles, take a deep breath, and find something better to do with your time

Considering that the replay showed his ANKLE planted in the turf and turning, you should take your own advice two-fold and find a new website on which to spend your time.
Diagnosis for anyone with intelligence rarely made from a video play
I hope to god he's not hurt, but if you want to try and tell me this is his ankle and not knee, then you're watching something else. Scroll down and watch the gif Link - ( New Window )
He came back on the field without crutches, and ice pack, or even a band aid on his ankle. I am sure it was a scare to him but I will be shocked if he isn't OK. It was amazing that the Giants had him walk off the field, onto the sideline and then into the locker room by HIMSELF after getting hit that way. That was strange.
if his being on the ground inside was just for the cameras, since when I saw it I feared it was the other way around - that him looking tough and fine walking to the locker rooms was the act for the cameras he knew were on him outside and once he was inside and out of view, he let himself react to the pain from a serious injury.
Someone's bound to do it either way. I'm not angry with this.
Chock full of discussion
Really? Is he supposed to sit his starters for the entire preseason?
It looked like his knee to me

For treating the 2nd pre season game like week 16 with the division on the line...asshole

Lol yeah fuck preseason
This is what he teaches
He played them one drive into the second quarter.
Blame Gregg Williams for coaching yet another dirty ass defense.

Injury Update: Odell Beckham Jr. suffered an ankle sprain #NYGvsCLE
Giants announce that Odell has an ankle sprain and won't return. Giants' sideline reporter called it "slight."
Per Howard Cross on WFAN, OBJ has a "slight ankle sprain".
I think

You realize a high ankle sprain could be a 2-3 month injury if it's bad?
I did - I thought that was why he went down after he tried to get up. I think he got his bell rung.
They said he cleared protocol so that's good - but now we have to hope the x rays are negative on the ankle.

But Odell was walking right afterwards. No way he does that if it is a high ankle sprain. You can't walk for several minutes after high anklevsprain

Yeah, I don't think the ankle was the real problem.
I'm actually surprised he cleared protocol but that's obviously great news.
Exactly. I don't known why this isn't the big issue here. Nothing was to be gained by having him out there. And same with Eli now.
If you look at the slo mo replay, his toes get stuck in the turf and his ankle snaps back to where it was supposed to be... like a high ankle sprain

That's an awful take.

Second blame goes to Hugh Jackson for hiring Greg Williams.
And Roger Goodell should get some blame for not banning Greg Williams for life.
What do you expect from the crotchety chief of thread police? It's pathetic to witness.
This was fully threadworthy. Signs are the Giants caught a break, but keep the updates coming...we all got our fingers crossed.

Fatman's lunatic response to this thread is worse than any potential beckham injury. You need to learn to relax brother.

Hey cut him a break - we all saw our season coming to an end there for a min. I hung up on my gf lol
He would not be walking around if something was broken....
His only choice is to chop him down low to avoid the penalty.
It's not dirty. It's a product of the game.
What the fuck?

to those critical penalties by the Giants. smh
I love Odell and I also think he always knows when the camers is on him lol. Anyway glad he is ok hopefully
Good grief
Why no mention that he's a dirty fuck? The announcers never have a problem rehashing what Beckham's done in the past
prdave73 : 10:03 pm : link : reply
I haven't changed my opinion of him since he became the OC.
And again - why are you discussing McAdoo on the injury thread?
You know what I'd love?
If you'd never post again.

Yeah, the guy blew his knee out and he's just hanging out.
Awesome logic there, Fella

I think that Fat man was just bewildered when he saw how ripped you are.
Thanks Doc. Really amazing to have a legit medical doctor and Giants insider on the board.

Word used by Odell: "Relieved."
I also thought the knee bending in looked severe and potentially very damaging.
LOL is this a serious post?
Just when you think you've seen all the stupid...
