Thought this deserved a separate thread. Dr David Chao is a former NFL team doc and has tweeted about OBJs injury. Some hopeful takes here.

Off limited @OBJ_3 @Giants video:
Bad news: high ankle sprain
Good news: cleats slip out, so hope for mild. Doubt extended absence.

No boot, Not even a wrap on ankle.
Seems encouraging.
@Giants would not allow that is there was worry for swelling.
David J. Chao, MD @ProFootballDoc
Rolled out so not standard low basketball type sprain.
Mild high ankle.
If he feels this good tomorrow, then out of the woods.

Beckham said it "feels like a rolled ankle. ... It'll be all right."
I think I'll be following his Twitter this season.

The "good news" is welcome. I just don't attach much importance to Chao's opinion.
He was x rayed in the locker room, and no one said "fracture." So as long as the MRI is clean, he'll likely be fine. I assume they'll check the knee as well. That's what I was worried about.
No, you have it backwards.

What would make you say that? He's been posting about NFL injuries for a while.

...hasn't Chao been pretty badly discredited?

Here's Deadspin's comprehensive takedown of the guy. Basically, a good history of being (allegedly) drunk and negligent cost him his job as the Chargers' team doc.
That said, all that could be true and he'd still be more qualified to tweet about sports injuries on TV than most folks are.

That's pretty damning. Hadn't heard all that.
Beckham was a literally split second away from potentially torn ligaments in his knee, though - scary.
I know he's a lot tougher than me, but no way he has a bad sprain. Hopefully he was more scared of what might have been ... than actually in that much pain.
