Big Ben & B Marshall

for

ODB & T. West (RB)
kinda need a little more to go on
djm : 9/6/2017 11:47 am : link
..
OBJ and West and it isnt even a question.
robbieballs2003 : 9/6/2017 11:51 am : link
Even if you like Ben he is always injured. You get a top player for 2 mid round picks. Homerun.
I'm assuming you're giving up
allstarjim : 9/6/2017 11:54 am : link
Big Ben?

PPR - love the trade. But who is your other QB? If you have a good one without Big Ben, proceed.

Standard - still really like the trade. I think OBJ is probably at a mini-discount right now because the radio silence on his injury. If you're good at QB then it's a huge boost to your team. And West is a good flyer.

I do think that Big Ben is going to have a really good year, but I wouldn't hesitate to throw the trigger. I would even consider streaming options at QB to get OBJ.
What are your QB options?
wgenesis123 : 9/6/2017 12:05 pm : link
Is Ben your starter? If so who is on your bench? Who is available on the waiver list? If Ben is not your starter its an easy trade to say yes too.
Beckham
TyreeHelmet : 9/6/2017 12:07 pm : link
If your the Beckham owner accept this now. That's a ridiculously lopsided trade.
If you're getting Beckham and West
JoeMoney19 : 9/6/2017 12:12 pm : link
I don't care what you're QB options are beyond Ben. Take that trade and run. Beckham by himself is worth far more than Ben and Marshall. I'd be shocked if your league allowed that trade to be honest.
Your* QB options

Sly Guy : 9/6/2017 12:15 pm : link
Plain and simple.
What moron is giving up OBJ for that "trash"?
ZogZerg : 9/6/2017 12:18 pm : link
That is a terrible trade.
Gonna hijack this post to ask for a trade opinion of my own

I'll give up CJ Anderson and Ertz for his Carlos Hyde.

My team:

QB: Brady, Dalton
RB: Shady, CJ Anderson, Rawls, Jacquizz Rodgers, Conner
WR: Brandin Cooks, Keenan Allen, Garcon, Corey Coleman, Robby Anderson
TE: Ertz, Bennett

His team:

QB: Palmer, Rivers, Luck
RB: Elliott, TyMont, Hyde, Rob Kelley, Burkhead
WR: AJ Green, Tyreek Hill, Thielen, Devante Parker, Maclin
TE: Jack Doyle

If I ask for Devante Parker in the trade as well, think it's a good trade?

IF you et Parker, pull the trigger.
have my draft tonight
Strahan91 : 9/6/2017 12:25 pm : link
.5 point ppr league with 3 WR's. I'm likely going to pick between Beckham and McCoy. Beckham seems like the obvious choice but I'm worried about Beckham missing week 1, the Giants anemic o-line and the extra mouths to feed this year plus the fact that WR is a much deeper position than RB. Who do you guys think I should take?

Depends on where you pick. After 15 - 17 picks, solid RB become barren unless you're willing to draft question marks.

I'd go Shady simply because Round 2 offers a lot of intriguing WRs such as Michael Thomas, Brandin Cooks, Dez Bryant, etc.

Thanks for the response. I'm picking 5 so assuming Bell, Johnson,Brown and Julio are the first 4 off the board
For what's it worth
Sly Guy : 9/6/2017 12:53 pm : link
I picked Shady at 4 so you might not even have that option.

I did piss off a lot of my league mates though. Apparently a few of them between 5 - 8 wanted Shady lol.
I got Brady

I need a WR to go opposite J Landry
if you have Brady at QB

I'm sure he meant if he was receiving Beckham that he should accept. Nobody would take the other side of that deal.

Would anybody consider trading Le'Veon for Dez + Crowell?

No to the Lev Bell trade for the Lev Bell owner.

I don't think you should have to give up Ertz. Hang on to him. If the other player offered, just go Anderson for Hyde straight up. I do think Hyde (if healthy) outperforms Anderson this year.

I would go OBJ, personally. If PPR it makes it more compelling to take OBJ. Either way I take OBJ, and not as a homer. Although there is value in round 2 for receiver, there is value there for RB as well. I think the really high end talent at WR is shallow, and a lot of different RBs late can emerge and become top 10 RBs this season. Especially with many rookie RBs. Either way, I think the conversation should be more about OBJ vs Freeman than OBJ vs McCoy. McCoy had a career year last year and the Bills actually lost talent on that offense. I think a little regression is possible. Freeman I believe will get more touches this year and I believe will eclipse McCoy.

Don't get me wrong, I still like McCoy, and it's really close, but I have Freeman a little higher on my board.

In any case, I take OBJ there, though, in PPR or Standard.

The case for OBJ is this: Consider last year he had no help at all. Giants couldn't run with Jennings, he had no TE to threaten the seam, and he had a guy on the outside opposite of him that drew absolutely zero safety help in Victor Cruz. A ton of defensive attention was dedicated to the only real threat on the Giants' offense, OBJ. He still responded with being the 4th ranked WR in fantasy, both standard and PPR, with 101 catches, 1367 yards, and ten TDs.

With the running game improved, a seam-buster in Engram, and Marshall's addition on the outside, I expect that OBJ will finish the year as the number 1 ranked receiver in fantasy. He may not get more catches than his 101 of last year, but I believe he'll do more with them. I think a campaign of 1500+ yards and 14+ TDs is seriously in the offing.

Nearly everyone is underestimating OBJ this season. Don't be that guy that forgets he is a generational talent that is capable of things we haven't seen before.

Definitely wouldn't do Ertz/CJ for Hyde, you are giving up too much. Would prefer to hang on to Ertz, would rather do CJ + a WR to get back Hyde + Parker... maybe CJ + Allen.

Or you could go CJ + Bennett for Hyde, I could live with that one.

This is why in my leagues I make it so only commissioner has trade veto power. If both owners genuinely believe a trade makes their team better, whether or not what anyone else thinks regarding the value of the what the trade partners are getting, the trade should go through. The only time a trade should be voided is in cases of collusion. That's it.

Some people have gotten mad at trades in my league, hell, I've gotten mad and I'm the commissioner, knowing that one guy is giving up too much to a team that is already a powerhouse, but I let the trades go through because as long as they are managing their team to put themselves in the best position for the success of their team in THEIR OPINION, then it's their perogative.
