... but last night it began, and it still blows me away.
We all know some idiot Dallas fans. Two of the people I know started texting and Facebook-tagging/taunting me late last night. First I've seen of it, and honestly? I was surprised.
You've got some question marks on a revamped O-line, you have some injuries and suspensions at key spots on D, your defensive backfield is a complete unknown, and you have a pretty big scumbag playing in your backfield.
I responded to one guy and said it was a big ballsy to talk so much shit when they've lost the last three games and their team hasn't won jack since the early 1990s.
"We have more Super Bowls ... you only beat a rookie quarterback last year ... Eli sucks ..." blah blah blah.
I realize Eagles fans are likely the worst we deal with. But damn, Dallas fans are pretty insufferable.
At this point 'Super Bowl' no longer means 'Modern Football Era' the way it once did.
The 1970's are as far removed from today's game as the 1950's.
Him: Oh I'm a Dallas fan.
Me: Sunday night, another night game. Well, you guys will have Elliot for this one before his suspension starts.
Him: What's he suspended for?
Me: Ummm...domestic violence.
*Note: This is not a parody or joke. This was an actual conversation. D.C. area Cowboys fans notoriously don't know shit about their own team or football in general. They just enjoy being loud.
LOL
It generally doesn't take many questions to figure out how much they know about the game or their team. Respond accordingly, I guess.
To each there own, but if you are spending that much time being angry about what other team fans are saying, then you're missing out on a big part of the joy of life.
2007. 2011.
Peace. Wake me up when Dallas does anything other than steal headlines or break laws.
Nice D you got there in Dallas. Is it ever gonna stop anyone in a big spot? Nope. Enjoy.

Fart. That's my response to you. A big loud fart.
last year they're going to be saying that.

Love it when "people like you" tell me I'm missing out on the joys of life because I'm so angry.
Dude. Maybe you're not saying idiotic things to your Giants-fan friends, but I KNOW you're being disingenuous.
People can say whatever they want. They can also be as annoying as fuck. lol Meanwhile, I have one friend who's a Dallas fan who talks a little shit BUT he also is a self-described very casual fan. Doesn't know a lot of players' names. But he does it with a light approach.
Also have a guy, close friend of my son - junior at Penn State - who I go back and forth with, but this 20-year-old is different. He watches the draft (like us), he pays close attention during the off-season (like us), he knows guys up and down the depth chart (like us) and he's a crazy rabid fan because his Dad was from Louisiana (lots of Cowboys fans regionally). He speaks intelligently about his team.
There's a difference between fans like those, and fucking assholes who just spout nonsensical bullshit.
I'm betting you know this.

I think talking smack and being a casual fan shouldn't really go together.
I was at a Dallas game the last year the old stadium was open, and I see a group of high school age kids wearing Cowboys gear. I asked them if the knew when the last time was that Dallas had won a playoff game, which I believe at the time was around 15 years. They all thought Dallas had been in the Super Bowl in the last year or two. It's just a perception that every year Dallas is more relevant than they have been in actuality.

Many fans are casual fans and wouldn't know about Elliott's suspension. IMO, it's ok to be that casual fan if you live in the Dallas or Texas area or grew up in that area. If you always lived in the northeast, it's annoying that people become casual fans of other teams. It doesn't make sense. Then be a diehard fan of that team.

You all boil your pot? Does it stay in your system longer?
Maybe that's why so many Cowboys are getting caught?
Well said - I like your style.
