makes me so happy. I can not explain why I dislike that team so much but their loss last night has me smiling. I understand the greatness of B.B. and Brady but there is something about them that irritates me. Glad to see them lose after hearing on my drive home that they would almost certainly go undefeated. Every team is vulnerable and they are no exception, nice to see them eat humble pie for a change.
The part that I'm enjoying is the "shocked" fans, as if they just couldn't possibly ever lose a football game. It was somewhat irritating when they were down just a point and they looked forlorn. lol
The other part is, as you mentioned, the whole undefeated/they're even better nonsense.
Maybe they are. And I fully expect them to rebound and be one of the more dangerous team going forward. But holy hell, undefeated? Come on.
Thought the game was over when Hill fumbled, and man am I glad I was wrong.
Plus I confess to always liking Smith.
Pats now go to NO. Bet the over in that one.
But I'm also with you guys...there's just something sweet about the angst and misery going on over our group text this morning. And they never miss a chance to pile on when Eli has a bad game, so I have no problem enjoying a Pats home loss a little extra with them
The 'Are the Pats going to go undefeated?' talk all summer long was annoying as hell.
1. I don't mind the Pats, in fact if the Giants can't win, I'd want the Pats. When I started following sports, they were a doormat, the way they turned it around is really a rags to riches great story.
-They also are a rival of the Jets, which helps.
-I'm from CT so I like the NE name
2. Seattle was lucky to even BE in that position to win the game....they SHOULD have lost to GB and then that catch NEVER should have happened.
yea spent a lot of time in the Boston area in the mid-late 80's and literally if you didn't televise the Pats games every Sunday they probably wouldn't even have noticed. Distant 4th is putting it lightly...ask a Pats superfan to name 1 Pat prior to 2000 that wasn't named Steve Grogan.
Then 2001 happened. changed everything, all the teams up here have won, and the fan base is one of the most obnoxious entitled fan bases on the planet.
In every sport, except NBA where I'm a Celtics fan, I hate the Boston team more or as much as most of my teams division rivals.
I get almost as much joy, actually it's not joy it's more relief, from a Boston team loss than I do from my teams win.
I don't know if people will understand that who don't live in New England and dislike most of the teams.
Can't stand the smug little Brady grin either.
The New England media was smug all offseason, now they can
shut up. They are already starting to panic about that defense, lot of new faces. It looks like Hightower will be out
about a month, early reports.
It wasn't until Parcells/Bledsoe in 1993 that the Patriots started getting a consistent following.
And then a small lull for the 3 Carroll years after they lost to GB in the SB with Parcells, but still better than before Parcells and things obviously escalated with Belichick, but 1993 is the point of demarcation (in my mind).
and I frequented Sullivan Stadium during the early 90's when I'd get free tickets and other incentives, and many Sundays I'd have my own row. My own metal bench.

agreed. My friends both got season tickets in 1993. That place was dead in the early 90s.

Really, that's okay.Just like they will hear 18-1 for the rest of their lives!

It's such an advantage. 74-22 in division since 2001.
Bunch of bandwagon jumping fuck sockets.
Plus there's the whole every other year the Pats are getting fined and penalized for breaking the rules thing...so yea, fuck the Pats. Just like fucking the Niners back in the 90s.
Win one division when Brady's leg doesn't snap in half. ONE. And even then they allowed the Pats to win 11 games.
There's no way in hell the Pats do what they did if they lived in the NFC East. No fucking way.
Quote:
That no one else in AFC East can run enough a football program to challenge the Pats. The Pats are a great run organization but they are practically guaranteed six wins a year.

It really isn't the advantage you think it is, look at their record vs. the NFC over that time frame, look at their out of division record since then.
They dominate everyone. Their division has had weak QB's for a long time, but it hasn't been much different from the NFC East in that time same time frame.
As Ambrose Bierce famously said, "Success is the one unpardonable sin against our fellows."
""We're only gonna score 17 points? Hahaha, okay."
I really like BB, but I can separate that from my loathing of these Brady led Patriots. Plus it's not like he is an ex-Giants how has never won anything on his own to where you really want it for him. He satisfied that a long time ago.
Make it 10; just posting about hating them makes me hate them, and most of their 'fans'. twice as much.
