will start season 3 of Narcos. I'm actually looking forward to less cartoonish scenarios and more politics. That was always the best part of seasons 1 and 2 which played second fiddle to the constant murders and bombings. Only so many times to watch Escobar survive before it gets old.
Definitely a lot less violent then the first 2 seasons (That kinda changes towards the end) but I think the storyline is better. Maybe because everybody knew how it was going to end with Escobar yet I had no idea about the Cali cartel. Can't wait for season 4.
I felt like the cat and mouse game started to get really tiring in Season 2. I loved Season 1.. and Season 2 had it's moments. It just seemed like after a while it was like.. alright, just fucking catch the guy already.
I didn't have high hopes for S3 - but maybe I'll check it out.
but they did. Excellent the way the moved from the Escobar story line and introducing the Cali cartel.
I think what makes this so good is that the Cali cartel story was not as well known. Not as many movies, documentaries, books, etc. as there was about Escobar.
I watched the first 2 seasons kind of knowing what was going to happen, this season not so much.

It's good but it's a whole lot of that again.
I’ve binge watched season 1 over the last day or so Â
and taking the story in that direction would be interesting indeed.
I think 1 of the problems (if a problem exists) with the 3rd season is that Escobar's character was so over the top in real life (modern day Jesse James type? Billy the Kid?) ...
and then match that with the actor who portrayed Escobar (who was amazing). There was bound to be some sort of let down(?)
Someone also mentioned above that the Cali Cartel was way more low key (old style Mafioso (?) ).
The contrast between Escobar's violence and the Rodriguez brother's sophistication is done very well (IMO).
Not a bad season though - all in all. I am enjoying it (about 7 episodes in).

I can see them doing a change in story again as well, perhaps El Chapo or that ilk will be next in Mexico
Agreed. Chepes scenes make me want to rewatch it sooner then later.
Pacho is such a savage
story - ( New Window )
