NFT: Amazon Fire issue...advice appreciated

I bought my mom an Amazon Fire a few months ago and all seemed well. She uses it for her email, banking website, news, etc.

Well she has told me that the main screen is now locked and all of a sudden the voice prompt is on, and when you press anything on the screen, all it does it tell you what button is being pressed. It will not open anything. I can't get out of it.

I am have tried everything I could think of, but am not an expert on this device.

Has anyone else experienced this? My mother would appreciate it LOL.
Ave you tried a hard reset?

Hold the power button in for @ 20 seconds.

They may have other things you can try. And if it's still malfunctioning, they'll initiate the return. Usually they will send a replacement out and you can send the bad one back in its box after you get it.
Jints had a similar thing with an Amazon Fire my mom was using

Luckily it was within the first 30 days and I was able to return it. Replaced it with an iPad mini and she has had no issues with it in over 4 years of using it.

Unfortunately she has had this over 30 days. I'll call Amazon customer service.

Any time I have had to deal with Amazon support/returns

They have been great !!

They ask very little questions (in the sense that they never tried to talk me out of a refund or anything argumentative, confrontational, etc ....) - if I was not happy with the product for any reason the have refunded my money.
