They're gonna run the ball really well, they're gonna work play action, and Dak isn't going to make many crippling mistakes. I don't think they take the step back everyone was hoping for.
but then again they didn't have to do much tonight. I will say that Dak is going to be exposed this year though, he's just not a good passer. He's got "game manager" stamped all over him, and I can definitely see teams daring him to beat them with his throws this year. He's not capable of doing that.

Their offense won't be an issue. Aside from us making their D look like the '85 Bears, I suspect they won't experience the same success slowing competent offenses.
Dak doesn't look any different then last year......
They can move the ball and keep the chains moving, but I don't think they are very explosive. That could also be a function of playing against a very good Giants D, but I was not that impressed and they're certainly not Super Bowl caliber.

Flip side of that, I don't think they're taking any great step forward either. If their D is as bad as I think it might be (pointing at you, Giants offense), then their long term prospects are limited.
and makes just enough plays. He's a great fit for that team. But to me, it still looks like the way to beat Dallas is to stop the run and make them a passing team. They still have Witten and Bryant but Prescott just hasn't shown himself to be a precise passer beyond about 10 yards. Sometimes he makes the throw, but a lot of the time he doesn't.

True. If you can limit the run game and their ToP and score 25 points you've got a good chance to beat them. Unfortunately that excludes the Giants at the moment.
in that while they are ahead and rolling , it's tough to get them off their mark. If you get them down 2 scores, I think they will struggle, especially Prescott, who is no Romo in terms of comeback moxie. But you have to get up on them. In the division , only the Giants D is capable of that , but it didn't happen last night because of the shitty Giants offense, led by a decidedly skittish quarterback .
But back to topic. Their offense, in terms of grinding, relentless TOP, is the best in the league. They are the one team that remains in the league that can run out the game on the ground, regardless of eight-man fronts. It's very refreshing , in a way, actually. Too bad it has to be fucking Dalllas but that's the way it goes.
Just like you can overreact to what the Giants did you can't overreact the other way either. Here okay they didn't play great. They had a million chances. Had to settle for fg they aren't a great offense. There okay
Cowboy fan here, and I'll give you a respectful and outsiders view of our team, for starters this is a young team who still hasn't quite figured it out and last year your team pretty much "Big brother" us and wiped our ass! Umm but make no mistake we are better than the skins and the eagles but last year it was only teams with really strong defenses like the Giants and the Ravens that could hold their own and push us around a bit,Green bay got lucky in the playoffs they didn't blow us out of it we just came up short, We beat the steelers and the eagles in hard fought batttles and we beat the Ravens, but our secondary sucked last year and this year we're still not there and our Pass rushers are young guys still figuring it out, We get talked about a lot by other fans saying that we're dopeheads and we do have some bonehead players but we also have some outstanding young men like Jalen Smith,Sean Lee and Dak is a really mature young leader, Yeah his passing accuracy leaves a lot to be desired but the kid has the "It" factor unlike Romo who was snaked bit and I'm glad to see us move away from him, Over the years we we're horrible at drafting and we have slowly gotten better, Anyways I always respect your team and was impressed with your superbowl run where you fought your way to the top, I believe from a wildcard and I feel the cowboys too are starting to get that us against the world mentality! Jason Garret like this team is still a young head coach trying to figure it out, But like Tampa Bay their a good team but just a year and few players away from being a contender so are Cowboys, Anyways God bless

Maybe they will wear out before the season ends...
