Is it too early to give up

blueblood'11 : 9/11/2017 8:49 am
I'm sure everyone will jump down my throat and say no. It's only one game. I understand. However, you go into Dallas the first game of the season and to lay an egg like that with the whole football world watching is mind boggling. This offense appears to be nowhere. They have no teeth. Even if OBJ were on the field I don't believe the result would have been any different.

And this was supposed to be against a highly suspect Dallas defense. The Giants are going to be going up against much better defenses down the road then this one. And if last night is any indication lord only knows this team will have no shot at a playoff spot. This appears to be a continuation of last years offense only worse. How is that possible with all the talent they have at the skill positions. McAdoo has got to be on the hot seat If this offense continues down this path and shits the bed. If in the end that's the case he needs to go.

Doubt anyone is saying it is, after one game

But if they lose at home to Detroit . . . .
It's still preseason in today's NFL
BlueHurricane : 9/11/2017 8:51 am : link
If they are still this bad in week four then its time to panic.
Yeah, I'm sure Pats fans are running to Stub Hub to sell
jcn56 : 9/11/2017 8:51 am : link
those playoff tickets too, after they were dismantled at home in the first time in forever.

While I'm not happy about the O in any way - there's a very good possibility they just laid an egg in primetime. Shit happens.
it is the first game of the season
nygiants16 : 9/11/2017 8:52 am : link
without their best player who opens up everything..

the defense is very good..

giants started 2-3 last year..
This team will be lucky to be 8-8
superspynyg : 9/11/2017 8:55 am : link
this year.
Lions W 1-1
Eagles L 1-2
Bucs W 2-2
LAC W 3-2
Broncos L 3-3
Seahawks L 3-4
BYE
Rams W 4-4
49ers W 5-4
Chiefs L 5-5
Skins L 5-6
Raiders L 5-7
Eagles W 6-7
Cowboys L 6-8
Cards W 7-8
Skins W 8-8

Maybe if we can beat Cowboys at home we can go 9-7 or we could lose to the Lions and be 7-9.

But you may want to recalibrate your expectations.

What the fuck is wrong with you?
Which team do you think will look a lot different next week?

You probably see the same from the Giants, while the Pats probably do a 180.....have lost faith in the coaching of this team.....
Well
blueblood'11 : 9/11/2017 9:24 am : link
The Pats did win the Super Bowl last year. So I wouldn't even use them as an example. For anyone to slant this any other way is looking at this through rose colored or should I say blue colored glasses.

This is a continuation from last year only worse. In preseason it was oh it's only preseason the offense did well against a tough Jets defense. And because your best player is on the bench you don't open up the offense?? Are you kidding me!!! If that's the case then what the hell kind of offense are you running anyway.

The defense is in place. But they can't do it alone. And to say this is still preseason I have news for you, the wins and losses count now. And there looks to be some very hungry and aggressive teams out there and if this offense doesn't turn it around right now they will continue to be the worse offense in football.

I'm with you. Spags knows how to coach given the players he is given. McAdoo is in over his head. This offense is a pathetic I don't give a shit what you say about the offensive line. They have two number ones and a two on that line. To me it comes down to the coaching and the scheme which I believe does not work in Eli's favor or to hie strengths.

the open up was probably at mr and i didnt see mcadoo didnt open up the offense, i said beckham when he is in the game completely opens up the field because the defense always has to account for him..

how would the falcons look with no julio?

how did the pats look with no edelman?

how would the steelers look with no brown?

how would the bucs look with no evans?

how would the cowboys look with no zeke?

when you are missing your best player kind of hard to open up a defensr, defense can play straight up and not have to worry about dpuble covering anyone...

cowboys sat back and played zone, the linebackers shut down the middle of the field...

The Cowboys are a very good team.
BrettNYG10 : 9/11/2017 9:32 am : link
The Giants look to have an elite defense again.

I'm still optimistic.
it is why people wanted to play beckham as a decoy
nygiants16 : 9/11/2017 9:35 am : link
if he is on the field the cowboys have to bring over a safety or a linebacker has to play underneath him...

all of sudden engram has the seam open or marshall has more 1 on 1
Beckham' presence
Les in TO : 9/11/2017 9:46 am : link
Will open up the offense for everyone else. He is why we made the playoffs last year on top of our stellar D.

I'm not getting on you. I'm just stating the obvious. Look at this offense. It never changes. It's the same bullshit only worse. They have skill position p,Ayer all over this offense. Kevin Gilbride would have had a field day with all these weapons even minus OBJ.

eli would be killed if gillbride was the offensive coordinator..

and i am not excusing yesterday but no teams offense is going to look good without their star player
Truth be told
blueblood'11 : 9/11/2017 10:00 am : link
The Giants offensive line under Gilbride had one high draft pick on that line. Chris Snee. They were coached well. This offense is not well coached.

Gilbride would find ways to get the defense in bad matchups. He would salivate to have all these offensive weapons. It would be bombs away. None of this dink and dunk horseshit.
It's one game.
Section331 : 9/11/2017 10:03 am : link
It's possible that we're just not that good, it's also possible that Dallas is really good, or it could be a combination of both. My guess (and hope!) is that we just took a dump last night, and will straighten things out next week.

We'll see soon enough, but I'm certainly not bailing yet.

and eli would have 25 interceptions...

the dink and dunk horseshit is what everyone runs nowadays, it is the west coast offense...they use short passing game as their running game...
We lose next week and the season could be toast

By the bye.
Think big picture

Every year I peg the division away games as a loss just to be conservative, so the team is right on track so far. Let's see what happens next Monday at home where we had a 7-1 record last year.
