It can't be said enough. I know it's been brought up on other threads. Maybe I needed to do this as some sort of therapy. He can't run block. He can't pass block. He missed a stunt again yesterday (so much for continuity) and almost got Eli killed again. I've seen Bret Jones play and even though he's not a world beater, the line plays demonstrably better when he's in the game. I was shocked after the Jet game that Jerry continued to take all the first string reps at RG.
I don't even think he's a good backup. It's amazing to me that someone that large constantly gets pushed back into the pocket. He can't move anybody on a run play.
Here's my question: What am I missing? Why does Mac continue to play only Jerry? Why doesn't anybody else get a real shot at the RG slot? Is he going to start at RG next game as well?
Is Mac out of his mind or is it me?
I know there are other problems with this offense, but I only want to discuss John Jerry here.
I'd activate Halapio and if Weston Ragdoll doesn't start to hold his ground I'd try Jones at Center with Halapio at RG
If they still insist on giving Hart some time then I'd at least put Fluker or Jones in at RG. Jerry serves no purpose as a backup. Fluker might be our best option as Jones is very limited athletically. DJF might not be the pass protector that Jerry is yet, but he has the tools and he could improve whereas Jerry is just spent and he's only getting worse.

Amen!
I hope your joking. He sucked last year too!!!
I have a friend who's a Dolphin fan too. I offered to trade Jerry to him and asked for nothing in return. I also offered to throw in a portable generator for Miami. He answer was, send the generator, keep Jerry.
It doesn't make any sense to me. If Jerry starts next week or at least doesn't get pulled at the first sign of trouble, I'm bailing on the season, because to me it means that Mac doesn't know how to evaluate his own players.
is a head scratchier . I mean he did make the effort to better himself I will give him that he would be fine as a backup . He can't run block and not quick enough to pick up the stunts . I don't feel Bobby Hart is starting material either unless he develops in a hurry . I don't think Flowers was all that bad if he doesn't pan out good golly we have an even bigger mess .
