Few of us discussed how Cohen would not only make an impact in the NFL from day 1. But actually be good enough to take touches away from Jordan Howard.
I've linked the thread below where we discussed his value. Interested to revisit the discussion after yesterday's game when Cohen looked like the best player on the field in that Bears/Falcons game.

A lot of hype on him here and I considered picking him up. Now, I will be too far down on the waivers.
His long run he looked like Barry Sanders.
He would have had a 50 yard TD catch if the LB didn't get a lucky arm on it (without looking he put his arm up and hit the ball).
After that he caught a swing pass for a 20 yard TD catch as he ran over the DB at the 1.
Explosive and tough. Only 5'6" but he has 10.5 inch hands and he can catch. His role will grow in the next few games.
Bears got a 4th round steal here. He'll be the best player on that team and one of the best offensive players in the league this year.
I picked up Cohen in 1 league where I'm not as deep at RB so I'm happy about that. He seems like a great compliment to Howard and he should have been on the field at the end of the game yesterday.
Howard really showed he's clueless about how to catch a football. He just sat on it and faded backwards and dropped a 10 yard throw that hit him in the chest. It was a TD. He should have come back to it but he dropped one of the easiest catches a guy can make. Make the catch and he's in the end zone for the win. I'm sure CHI fans are pissed about taking Cohen out there.
That is the issue with Howard. He can't catch. His eyes were supposed to be fixed this offseason. Didn't help there.
Cohen's PT will eat into Howards but they will play them a lot together. Keep moving Cohen around. He's good on the outside and in the slot. They'll keep drawing up plays for him.
.5 PPR; I'm down 89 to 95 with intriguing matchups.
I have Michael Thomas (vs Vikings) and Younghoe Koo (vs Denver) vs her Kyle Rudolph (vs NO).
I imagine I'm going to be sweating this one out...

It's an edge for you since Koo could erase that 6 point deficit and Thomas vs Rudolph is definitely in your favor.
I'm down 16 and have Brees in a 6 point TD league and 1 point per 50 passing yards. I'll be sweating it out since it's a good D in Minny.
Ugh.

1 point per 50 yards? Ahh shit. You're going to be sweating it out. You need at least 2 TDs to have a chance in that league.
Cohen isn't a one time deal. He'll be huge especially in FF playoffs. Check out that Bears schedule.
Had 2 more rookies on a few teams:
DET WR Gollaway on a few too. He's going to be a good player too.
And Engram. I'm still a big believer. He would have had a TD if Flowers wasn't such a bum. Engram doing a little out fake was about to score a TD on this play
Engram for a TD! - ( New Window )

Tarik Cohen is gonna make a lot of headlines...

...this season.
Not only is he like slippery mercury with superman vision, but he's also surprisingly tough for a guy so small. He doesn't just go down on contact. And he will break tackles from guys 60 pounds heavier and a half foot taller.
Tarik Cohen is a very special player and whatever role he's given this year he will excel!!!
Wish we had him.
I have Demarco, Lamar Miller, Rawls, and Charles. I'm spending at least 25% on Cohen.

That's a no-brainer. Unfortunately for me (maybe you too?), in my main league, 25% isn't going to sniff the winning bid. I think I may need to cross 60% to have a chance. The guys in my league are extremely agressive especially on RBs.

‘‘Every time he gets the ball, something special could happen,’’ Miller said. ‘‘And you’ve got to be on your toes because he can squirt out of there and take it the distance. The kid can just do so much. He’s going to be a special player for a long time.’’
I tried to help you guys out with a heads up last week.
Bears Love Cohen - ( New Window )
Can't deny the talent and as the Bears skill players drop like flies, the opportunities will be there. Certainly worth the risk that he can keep this up.

It's my first year doing FAAB so I have no idea what the other guys/girls are thinking. However, I know there are several teams starving for RBs so...fuck.
60% on one player? Fucking A!
I missed out on him in 2/3 leagues. I didn't roster him in my more shallow league; and I wasted a $2 auction bid on Ebron (tying up a precious roster spot in my auction league) instead of Cohen where I'm weak at RB. Unlikely I'll get him in either league at this point.
Sproles-ish but with more every down value.
Cohen highlights - ( New Window )
He needs to get more carries at RB.
He had 12 targets in pass game.
I think McCaffrey will be a very good NFL player but I'd bet on Cohen being the better rookie and better NFL player..
I want Cohen but also think that the Ravens might represent the bigger upgrade in fantasy terms.
Full point PPR.

I'm in a 12 team league where they did a 20 round draft so FA pickings are already a little slim. I'm weak at RB and in a PPR league. We do FAs via blind auction bidding.
Would bidding somewhere between 50-65% of my annual budget for Buck Allen be crazy in this situation? I feel like he's doing to get a lot of touches with Woodhead out and would like to add an RB to my team.
I've been high on Hill since he got drafted by the Bears. Once Cameron Meredith went down and knowing how fragile Kevin White is, I thought the Bears would funnel their entire offense through Cohen, as Howard doesn't have that skill set in the passing game. Here were my comments on Cohen from that first thread...
* I think people are sleeping on Cohen's value right out of the gate, especially in PPR leagues. I see Cohen having similar value to what Tyreek Hill had last year but getting a lot more carries than what Hill had. He'll be the Bears kick returner, play WR and also be Jordan Howard's change of pace RB and primary 3rd down back from day 1.
* I'd be surprised if Cohen didn't get more touches than Hill did last year with the Chiefs. Hill was getting around 5-7 targets in the passing game and 1-2 carries per game. As the Bears primary 3rd down RB and lining him up as a WR at times when Howard is in the game, I think Cohen will get close to the same targets as Hill got, 5-7 per game. I think Cohen will also get more than Hill's 1-2 carries and should be 5+ per game. Than also figure in his kick return yards (if your league factors that in) and Cohen should have a similar impact that Hill had last year, if not better.
* I think that is the disconnect here, Cohen will get 10-15 touches per game (5-7 in the passing game and 5+ carries). Is that not enough to make an impact? In 2015, when Danny Woodhead was healthy, he averaged 12.7 touches per game and finished as the 4th highest scoring RB overall in PPR formats. Now I'm not comparing Cohen to that type of production, especially as a rookie. I just think all that KWALL and a few others are suggesting, is that Cohen has that type of "potential".
* Cardinals first team Defense, Cohen has runs of 16, 16, 25, 9 and had a bunch of the Cardinals first team defenders shaking their heads in disbelief with how he was breaking tackles for long gains. This wasn't against the Browns 2nd/3rd team defense, it was against the first team Cardinals D that's one of the better defenses in the NFL. Several of the Cardinals defenders who tried to tackle Cohen said after the game that the kids a special talent and a few reached out to Cohen on social media to say congrats on the game. How to the Bears coaching staff reward him in the 3rd preseason game off that stellar performance? Just one carry and then pulled from the game. They're saving him for the regular season.

Seems really high for Allen. Definitely worth a pickup, but I don't know if it shoot my budget for him.

And Cohen is available. Other RBs include Freeman, Crowell, White, Thompson and Rawls. Which would you cut? And despite the love for him on this thread, would you even give some thought to picking up the Ravens D (and drop the Giants) instead?
I want Cohen but also think that the Ravens might represent the bigger upgrade in fantasy terms.

Cohen will be worth way more than the BALT DEF on trade value alone. He is this weeks waiver wire darling. With Meredith and White gone for the year, Cohen might lead the Bears this year in targets.
Fair enough, but who would you cut?
QB:
Russell Wilson
Carson Wentz
WR:
Jordy Nelson
Keenan Allen
DeVante Parker
Sterling Shepard
Chris Hogan
RB:
Devonta Freeman
Isaiah Crowell
Chris Thompson
James White
Thomas Rawls
TE:
Delanie Walker
Jason Witten
I guess Rawls? But he actually has a clearer path to #1 back status. Maybe Thompson or White? Both are more proven than Cohen. I was leaning toward Witten, but could see him having a solid year at a scarce position. But I do want to add Cohen. Hence my dilemma.
Cohen isn't a one time deal. He'll be huge especially in FF playoffs. Check out that Bears schedule.
I'll try, but it will cost me. Should I bid 33 of my 100 budget to get a player I actually already had? Bitter pill but that's likely what it will take.
If he stays healthy he'll give you value even paying a big chunk for him.
And the playoff schedule for Cohen is a nice bonus.
