It's the players

Get better talent and the results will change.
They were also up by a ton early

and barely passed all game but nice try.
You can't teach balance

Which Flowers doesn't have, and frankly that is on Reese. His long arms might as well be Pugh's, he doesn't use them. His hands down by his waist. His strength isn't effective, because he's never over his feet. Always leaning.

They whiffed. He's a guard at best. I'm hoping Wheeler gets those calories and get's up to speed quick!

With all do respect FLowers was the least of the issues last night. Jerry/Richburg are a Mess. Hart was awful.

actually balance can be improved with certain types of practice

what do you think gymnasts and tightrope walkers and martial artists and surfers and so forth do?

Its on the player and the staff to figure it out

Yes, I believe you could be right, but I don't THINK that's been part of his training. He worked out a bunch, and has been practicing his technique which really didn't work.

And yes.. the other members of the line. The cast off from Miami's terrible line and the seventh round draft pick did struggle as well.

The guys didn't look ready, but I think it's also on Reese.
similar to this but far, far, far bigger

Who has gotten better under Solari?
Vanzetti : 9/11/2017 1:46 pm : link
Richburg took a huge stepback last year and continues to regress.

Flowers still is not an NFL quality LT. He was getting a lot of help last night.

Hart looks worse and worse.

Jerry isn't his fault but JJ certainly has not improved.

Moreover, the OL completely lacks cohesion. They can't pick up stunts. They miss blocks whenever they try to pull. They trip over each other's feet.

If you want to say Solari is great because he was chosen by the Giants, that's fine. But there is zero evidence that this guy has helped the OL at all.

Doesn't mean he can't coach. But he is not getting through to these guys or maybe his blocking schemes don't mesh with what Mac wants to do or whatever. Bottom line is results and the OL is either stagnant or continues to get worse despite continuity and guys getting more experience

A mark of a good coach is whether or not players improve under his coaching. Not to say there haven't been other stops in Solari's career where he has done well, but so far it looks as if the line has regressed since he joined the team.
balance can be taught.

a few weeks of yoga can have a dramatic effect on balance. or just try using the Wii balance board for a few hours, which gives visual feedback.

Flowers has other issues, but at the game he didn't stand out as the issue.

I would shake up the line next week. Remember when the Pats got ripped by KC a few years ago? And everyone was calling for Brady's head? Lil Bill shook up the line the next week and righted the ship. We don't have the same depth, but at this point what does it really matter.
I liked flaherty.

Very good coach, have no idea why we let him go? I feel like this team got rid of the coaches and hired crappy ones smh.
Here is my 2 cents
Triple "G" : 9/11/2017 5:34 pm : link
Foe whatever its worth,

Its not coaching it is talent, We hav 2 real bonafide starting O-linemen out of 5 and they aren't stellar they are serviceable. That's Pugh and Richburgh. I know a lot of people are down on Richburgh, but last season he played hurt and was still better than Flowers, jerry, Hart, and Newhouse.

Richburgh last night was the ONLY Lineman that did not give up a pressure in the game.

How can anyone expect this line to be any good when our starters and backups are pretty much the same level player. Reese and his play on words this season signed a "FORMER 1ST ROUND DRAFT PICK" and a Tackle at that, in Fluker. Well we already have a 1st round draft pick left tackle that on any other team would not be starting at all let alone playing LT in Flowers. So Reese signed another Flowers. Bobby Hart is a backup rotational player and that's it no more no less. What do you expect from a 7th round pick. John Jerry, he sucked when he was signed, he sucked last season and he still sucks today. So why is he still a starter?

Heres why, REESE hasn't done anything to improve the line at all. He Signed Newhouse and Jerry at the same time. One of them hadn't even saw a football field for 2 seasons. I cant remember which one, NO OTHER TEAM WANTE THEM, so Reese signed them. Same thing with Fluker he was not only cut he was cut on his rookie deal, (I believe) He was drafted in 2013 as a Tackle, he couldn't play LT or RT so they put him at guard, he sucked there too. San Diego couldn't get him out of the locker room quick enough. Why would Reese sign another O-lineman of that caliber that we already have 5 of and 3 of them are starting?

Flowers has NEVER had any competition what so ever to compare too on this team. WHY? No other GM in the league would NOT bring in a Vet to compare and push a rookie so he either wins the job or loses the job. Flowers had the LT Spot handed to him not on a silver plate but a Gold one. In his 2nd season 3 LT VETS came in for workouts, Reese flat out told them that LT is taken, if you want to sign with this team you have to play RT or Guard, but LT we are set at. (NO COMPETITION AT LT SPOT FOR GOUNG ON 4 SEASONS)Needless to say those 3 vets left without signing.

This o-line lacks talent, all but 2 of our linemen would either be backups or cut and not playing on any other team. A coach can only coach a player to his talent level. I feel Solari has done that. You say 3 season ago the same line was in place, I agree but and a big BUT, Coughlin was the HC and he made damn sure the Offense was balanced. He ran the ball or at least attempted too because the run game was terrible but he never abandoned it and the Offense was pretty much 50 - 5 Run Pass all season. It kept the defense's honest. You cant blame this O-Line on Solari, if you want to blame someone Blame Reese for ignoring it and bringing in guys that aren't any ggood and shouldn't be playing
Triple Gita worth a lot. You make the case well of what's wrong. The

Problem is it's irremediable this season. Rational conclusion is rgardless of record Reese must go. I would agree unless there is some saving grace he has that we don't know about, or it's Mcadoo's evaluation of the offensive line, then he has to go and we start over next season with new FO, new HC, and new qb's and begin a total rebuild. It may not be that crazy

Big running back, ran the ball 40 times for 142 yards, took shots down field and imposed their will. They looked like a completely different team.
