When does the McAdoo watch start

blueblood'11 : 9/12/2017 7:16 am
This may be a bit premature but this team is built to win now and while everyone rales against the offensive line one has to wonder is it the coaching. There two number ones and a two on that line. And for the most part were highly thought of coming out of college. Flowers not as highly thought of as Pugh and Richburg.

The offense has been an abject failure for some time now while if not for the defense lord knows what the record would be. Eli is on the last half of the back nine of his career. The defense is in place and McAdoo has shown an inability to produce anything on offense. How does ownership watch this mess and feel good about the head coach.

I think in his press conference when he was interviewed after being hired his suit was too big for him because he had lost weight and it was quite the scene and people kidded him about it. Maybe it was an omen that not only the suit was too big but a sign that the job was too big for him also.

You think?

Christ, this board is insufferable. People wanted Coughlin fired in 2006 too, how'd that turn out? For McAdoo, bring in a new coach week 3, what could go wrong?
He lost a road game without his star
hitdog42 : 9/12/2017 7:23 am : link
That he was supposed to lose even if his star played.... hot seat!!!!!!

Come on man!
Let's see
Rjanyg : 9/12/2017 7:25 am : link
McAdoo went 11-5 and to the playoffs his first season and lost his first game on the road without his best player.

Yeah let's first his ass immediately.

If not for the defense and Spags running it that team last year would not be 11 and 5. The offense last year was bad and if you think things would have been any better with Beckham on the field somehow I don't think so. How good was the offense last year and he played the whole year. How many games is it now they scored fewer then twenty points. McAdoo has been roundly criticized everywhere for this offense and rightfully.

There are a lot of big blue fans who hate this WCO bullshit offense that can't get anything done. And I'm one of them. It doesn't play Eli's strengths and Carl Banks said as much it was hard to figure out what the game plan was. That would be someone who knows what thenes talking about,
Helluva way to lose all credibility as a thread starter..

So if you don't agree with the style that means he should be fired? It's not blue colored glasses, it's logic. would Carl Banks fire McAdoo just for disagreeing with how he coaches?

I hope your bosses don't disagree with your work, would hate to see you guys get fired over it.

Jerz44 : 9/12/2017 8:04 am : link
I think it's very fair to be asking yourself now is McAdoo a legitimate head coach.

Let's face it- despite winning 11 games, this team looked like garbage for most of last season. If the D hadn't played exceptionally well this was a 2-4 win team. McAdoo is supposedly an offensive genius but the offense is worse than during the Danny Kannell years.

Personally, I'd wager this team misses the playoffs, looks bad doing so, and McAdoo is gone at the end of the year. Hope I'm wrong
There is no MacAdoo watch
joeinpa : 9/12/2017 8:07 am : link
But I will state, with all the optimism heading into this season, it s stunning how quickly this season is in jeopardy if the Giants lose Monday.

The utter ineptitude of the offense Sunday was too reminiscent of the pathetic defense of two years ago that gave the Giants little chance to be a contender

blueblood'11 : 9/12/2017 8:09 am : link
Thanks for the support. Crazy at it may sound I do t want to see him fired either I want him to succeed but this offense is so bad it's gotten to the point where it is indefensible. With all the speed they have on offense it should be a track meet out there. Not this insufferable slog we have to watch week in and week out. And that's on McAdoo no one else.

What do you want this org. to be the Cleveland browns, because that's what you get when you constantly change the coaches. That and oh yeah, 11-5!
They looked bad Sunday
Biteymax22 : 9/12/2017 8:11 am : link
But he is also 11-6 in his last 17 regular season games and 2-1 career against the Cowboys.

Let's move on to the Lions.

They are far from being
blueblood'11 : 9/12/2017 8:15 am : link
The Cleveland Browns. But let's be real here. What has anyone one seen recently that gives them any hope for this offense. It's gone from bad to worse and until McAdoo does something to make a course correction this is what your going to have.
They've looked bad for 18 games in a row.
Jerz44 : 9/12/2017 8:15 am : link
They looked bad in almost game last year.

Here's what everyone sees
blueblood'11 : 9/12/2017 8:19 am : link
Skill players up and down the offense teams like the Jets would salivate to have. Yet McAdoo and cannot for some reason parley that into a reasonable facsimile of a somewhat competitive offense.

I'm not offended I'm perplexed. You ignore 11-5 but say they were garbage, so which is it? Defense and Special teams were great, the offense wasn't, but you are cool just getting rid of a coach because things aren't running well on all phases of the game?

Take a long look across the league at teams that get rid of coaches frequently and let me know how often hear teams see success in this league. Getting a new coach doesn't guarantee anything and often times makes the problems worse.
You can coach well and lose and win despite bad coaching.
Jerz44 : 9/12/2017 8:24 am : link
McAdoo has been a head coach for 18 games that count. Of those, how many would you say the Giants played a complete game where all facets were working? By my count, 1-2 maybe. I don't have the schedule in front of me but I think Cleveland was a game they looked

I hear you and it is perplexing that two thirds of the team has played well. McAdoo was brought in under the the guise he would have a competent offense. That hasn't happened since he's taken over. The offense does not put fear in anyone who plays them.

The way this league is constituted anymore you can't put it all on your defense. It's not like in days gone by where they would say defenses win championships. The league won't let that happen. You need a little help from the offense as well. But when your offense can't even get a first down how the hell are they even going to put in the end zone. That's the state of this wonderful offense McAdoo has designed.

could it be the offense looked a lot worse because no beckham?

also go look around the league offense was absolutely terrible aroind the league...

offense always start the season slower than defenses

Beckham could have zero catches
nygiants16 : 9/12/2017 8:38 am : link
but if he is on the field it completely changes the way a team plays the giants, you think cowboys could just sit back and play zone if beckham played?

That's not the point. They won 11 games last year in spite of an inept offense and this first game was just a continuation of what we saw last year but only worse. Now if they had shown any fight and lost a hard fought game I don't think anyone would be reacting this way. You cannot be encouraged after what we saw Sunday night.

nygiants16 : 9/12/2017 8:46 am : link
how many offenses would look awful if you took their best player off the field?

I guess I hit a nerve
blueblood'11 : 9/12/2017 8:48 am : link
They had thee fucking points against a so so defense. Two first downs in the first half alone. I don't care if Beckham wasn't on the field. There were still eleven players on the field. So the offense goes completely into the shitter because Beckham isn't on the field. That's a sad indictment for this offense if that's what it takes too be remotely competitive.

I've seen a lot of Giant football teams over the years with a lot less talent on offense do great things because the had a plan in place and because of excellent coaching. McAdoo needs to course correct and fast because if you look at the defenses this offense has waiting for them down the road it ain't gonna get any easier.
The watch started the day he
section125 : 9/12/2017 8:49 am : link
was hired, BTW.

Now as for Eli not being a fit for the offense - no shit - he looked like he never played a game in his life Monday night(hyperbole on purpose). It is like he refuses to adapt to the system. I'm sure I'm wrong, but he wasn't taking what the defense was giving him. Yes the line sometimes didn't give him 4+ seconds, but I think the WCO is supposed to be quick plays to not allow the defense to react.

How about letting the next game happen before the coach is

blueblood'11 : 9/12/2017 9:02 am : link
Yeah it hurts that Beckham wasn't on the field but to the level in which they played had nothing to do with whether he was on the field or not. We saw it last year at times where you had to wonder if he was even on the field because the ball wasn't thrown in his direction.

McAdoo has not shown the ability to this point he can out scheme the opposition. He has become to this point the offensive version of Perry Fewel. He has his so called plan and sticks to it come he'll or high water.
There is struggling and there is
Thunderstruck27 : 9/12/2017 9:04 am : link
completely being inept. I didn't see any positive takeaways from this offense at all. If I had a gun to my head I'd say Shepard played ok.
For a coach who is supposed to be some kind of offensive genius(it's why he got hired, right?) you shouldn't NEED your best player. It's a team game.

why do you keep ignoring the question? would other teams struggle if you took away their best skilled. player?

so the offebse didnt look good against the cowboys first game last year? ravens? eagles? redskins sns 2 bad turnovers ?
