Could Hurricane Irma have distracted our players?

BigBlue in Keys : 9/12/2017 10:06 am
I'm sure many of our players have friends and family in Florida. The storm had been pounding Fl all day and was working its way up the coast at kick off. These guys are only human. I'd imagine they were very distracted and mentally exhausted making sure their families were safe. Yes Cowboys players probably had to deal with it as well, but at least they were the home team with no travel. IMO it must have been very hard to focus on the game plan. Reminds you that life is bigger than football. These guys are playing a super human sport but they are still humans like us.

Also I don't know if he posts here but I was clearing trees from the roads around my hotel in Miramar yesterday and a guy stopped to help. He was a Marine of 26 years named Dan. Kept saying I was wearing the right hat. After we finished he had to take his phone out to show me lots of pictures of himself in Giants gear to prove he was a fan! Said he was a life long fan from Brooklyn. Giants fans know how to do it! I have a picture but don't know how to post from my phone.
Did it distract our O Line last year?

People are acting as if this was only a one-time performance.

No

The O Line is bad because its made up of bad to average players.
I don't think there is any chance

that there was some sort of disparate impact to the Giants because of Irma than to any other team in the league outside of Florida.

The Giants played poorly on Sunday for a lot of reasons, but he hurricane was probably not one of them. All that is known for sure is that there is plenty of room for improvement, especially on the offensive side of the ball.
There ya go ...

Was wondering how you were making out with the storm and the aftermath.

Looks like you guys are having problems getting back into the keys with federal and card sound road closed, that's some crap.

How long are you booked in the hotel for? If you need a place I have an extra room in Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood area near the airport. Let me know.
More likely that Havey distracted the Cowboys

Thanks Brother Kuhn!

We are back in New Port Richey. Folks got power back and we are reorganizing the house. Still haven't gotten word on our house in Marathon. It is what it is. We will rebuild our town....

I figured Flowers went to school in Miami, Jerry played in Miami, JPP is a Deerfield guy. After reading on here they were improving in the preseason I figured maybe this was the reason for the sloppy play :) Admittedly I didnt see the game. First game I've missed since Redskins Dec 2007. This boards been so negative and depressed I was looking for an excuse, any excuse to stay excited this season.
That is EXACTLY what I believe...

...if not for the hurricane, for our players minds being locked on the suffering - while the heartless, soulless Cowboys only cared about FOOTBALL???

Man... Fuck them!
Cool man....

Yeah I know the keys people aren't going to be beaten by this, hope to get back there again soon myself, I go as often as I can with the customary first stop at Alabama Jack's! Still going to the Tampa game? If so I'll catch you there.
Bingo!

They were all worrying about their party boat in Miami.

Now we can get back to playing some football.
