Charles Oakley officially files civil suit against James Dolan (as well as Madison Square Garden Company & MSG Sports & Entertainment)
Sounds like the lottery reform is definitely going to happen. I know it won't go into effect until 2019, but its such the Knicks luck that this happens once they might actually start a rebuild with all their picks.
reform be a plus for the Knicks? It's basically a giveaway from the teams that finish in the worst 1-5 spots to the teams that finish in the worst 6-11 spots I think.
and should be, he was a warrior for the knicks, but only James Dolan can make this guy a sympathetic victim.
I'd be surprised if Dolan can control himself and avoid further mocking/bashing of Oakley. Disagree with Dolan = Dolan mocks you as a drunk is standard operating procedure for the petulant child running MSG

An alcoholic that trashes others as drunks. That press release should bring a pretty penny for Oakley.
If I were Oakley, I'd pursue a big payday just out of spite. Tossing him from the Garden should have been enough, but Dolan went into full douchebag mode. Even if Oakley was a huge douche and responsible for the ejection, they had no business writing what they did on Twitter.
I guess i dont know what i'm talking about re: damages
How much could calling someone a drunk via twitter though really cost someone? Dolan's net worth shouldn't really have anything to do with anything. Is this really worth a 6 figure payout?

It's not someone though, right? It's the official PR folks of the place where he was asked to leave and ultimately arrested, not to mention his former employer.
I'm no lawyer - but to me that seems a lot worse as far as libel is concerned than one person's personal opinion.

finished with 34 on 12/21 shooting (11/14 inside the arch, couldn't get the 3-ball to fall), only 6 boards (rebounding was disappointing in the FIBA). Luka Doncic 27 and 9 eliminating KP and Latvia. Doncic already in the discussion for best Euro NBA prospect ever #Knicks

That aside, Oak ... fucking stop it, man.

why should he? Seems like a pretty easy (albeit likely modest) payday coming. If someone offered me call it $50K, I'd take it too.

50k! That wouldn't come close to covering his lawyer's retainer.

I agree. I'd think you'd get a decent payday from an NBA team and its owner defaming you. Radio interview, press release, etc.

Latvia up 55-51 on Slovenia at halftime.
Porzingis has been dominant. 16 points in 16 minutes. He hasn't missed inside the arc (6-for-6)
