Since the other topics of the game (OL, Eli, play calling, etc.) have already been beaten ad nauseum, I figured I'd ask about what I considered a pretty key play that we got jobbed on.
Dallas is up 6-0, coming out of the 2 min warning, 2nd and 4 from the 36. Pass intended for Bryant inside the RZ and Jenkins gets flagged for PI.
From my perspective, not only was this play defended cleanly (head turned, no tugging), but the ball landed several yards out of bounds. So how the hell can a PI get called when, beyond Jenkins making the play cleanly, the ball was egregiously uncatchable. And of course, they score the game's first TD 2 plays later.
Yes I realize the rest of the 1st half was a dumpster fire on offense anyhow, but I think this was one of the key spots where momentum could've had a chance to start swinging the other way. I also realize it still would've set up 3rd and short and they were basically at the edge of Bailey's range, but I'll always opt for the other team being forced to convert a 3rd down than being handed a free one 20 yards downfield.
I also think if you get a stop there and they do hit the long FG, 9-0 is a hell of a lot different than 16-0. The game also plays out a hell of a lot differently if you assume we still grab the FG to start the 2nd half...it's instead only a 1 possession game at that point.
Long story short, while the offense was a disaster (and that needs to get fixed), I thought this home cooking call came at a pretty critical point before things were getting too out of hand on the scoreboard. Game in Dallas. Shocker.
PI can be such a game changer, I wish there was a way to take some of the inconsistency out of the call.

Agreed. That's the frustrating part....they let them play but they probably call the one play with the least amount of contact!!!!!!
The only thing that has me less pissed than otherwise is a 6-0 Cowboys lead at that point was already insurmountable, considering how badly our offense sucked Sunday night
Then pass interference wouldn't be the right call. It'd be holding or illegal contact, both 5 yard penalties

I haven't gone over the play but I think Jenkins grabbed Dex by the shoulder pads just pass 5 yards.

the ball was also thrown out of bounds therefore not catchable on this premise alone it should not have been PI

If that was a PI than all pass defense is illegal. Brutal call. Gift wrapped a TD for them. Although, they did finish it and take advantage by scoring a TD. if that was big blue the Giants would have gone backwards from there and settled for 3. The Giants under this HC seem to be one of the worst red zone teams.
That is the one that really got me. I thought the PI was a bad call, but play is going at high speed, those calls happen. The spot on the first drive was atrocious. Dallas didn't score, but they did hold the ball for another 6 plays, contributing to the defense's fatigue on a hot night.
