I just want to watch football. It was an affirmative action nightmare watching that game last night. She was the least horrible but still wasn't good (that voice), Rex sucked and this guy had no business being a sideline reporter.

Well, you've gotten this thread off to a glorious start.

Sorry maybe a little strong but can we just have the most qualified people in there doing the broadcast and keep it to just football. It seems that they force fit this group.

yeah won't this women and minorities shut the fuck up and know their place? cause their place sure as shit isn't in the purely REAL 'merican MNF broadcast, amirite?
Dipp clearly had no idea what he was talking about but I don't get the hangwringing about the woman play-by-play announcer. She was no better or worse than any other play by play guy.
He's not good enough to carry on the entire game. Also it's very rare that play by play people are well liked off the bat. It usually takes years for their voice to be associated with big games. Ex. Keith Jackson, Al Micheals
I thought she did a decent job, saddled with that windbag.
This Dipp character, though - I thought someone had taken the mic and pulled a prank when I heard him speaking. Then, I figured OK, maybe first night jitters. After seeing his attempt at an explanation, I'd suggest they actually find a professional to do his job.
The announcer was fine, I've heard no complaints Â
Frankly if the media didn't make a big thing about it I wouldn't have anything of it. I'm used to women announcers from soccer, women's bbal, even college football.

The sideline reporter was awful. No one disputes that. But you have serious issues when, the first thing you can think of is the person only got the job because of their race or gender. There are several shitty white guys that are announcers and sideline reporters. But would he think the same about them?
I don't think he said they suck because they're a woman or minority, just they suck because they suck and he thinks she just might of been put there to have a woman announcer for bragging purposes
The woman was that bad, but it just didn't feel like I was watching the NFL with her. Felt like it should have been tennis or soccer or something. I know that is probably because I have been conditioned to hear a guy. That said, she was no worse than anyone else ESPN has put out in the last several years.
I don't have a problem with her getting the job at all, but it really did feel like they just forced the group together to be politically correct.
Something about him being a minority and so were the coaches? Lots of minorities are on TV.
because welcome to this bizarro society where if a certain topic has 0 to do with race, they'll make it 100% about race. Even something as insignificant as flubbing up your report and looking and sounding awful on national television during a football game.
You think it was bad 10 years ago? For my own sake, Id take the 2007 world over anything we're experiencing today. in 10 years, things will get so shitty that well long for the days of 2017. things never get better. Only worse.
Sad thing about this weirdo and his explanation is some people will believe it i think some college professor out there is getting teary eyed (even though his explanation made absolutely no sense, well the half I watched) for whatever reason
Did this guy just say that he was in elementary school when 9/11 happened, and he's 29? Dude Im 30 and 9//11 happened when I was in 9th grade. This guys math sucks.
this guy is a fraud. Welcome to the world where people are offended by everything and you can be stupid but start talking about race to absolve you from your errors.
Ah, 2017 the world where people have green hair but they don't know why
RE: She was fine, Rex ryan had a few good points but Â

Hell, even the most universally loved play-by-play person would become a pariah around here the moment he dares to heap praise upon a player we don't like.

He forgot to mention that he's still in elementary school today.

You do realize that some places don't have middle school, right? In those places, K-8 is elementary school and 9-12 is high school. And if I'm not mistaken, he was born in Mexico but grew up in California, with English as his second language. Where I grew up (in Weehawken), in wasn't uncommon for the ESL kids to be a year behind due to language issues.
How can you be so certain that his math sucks? I think your xenophobia sucks, dude.
That’s news to me. No, 7th and 8th grade was its own separate school. Oops. Silly me. We were just normal.
I think my middle school is 7th grade through 9th grade now.
How the hell would I know? I haven’t lived in another country nor another state in my entire life. Is there a buzzword for a state phobia? I don’t have any kids and haven’t been in high school since 2005.
Well, you've gotten this thread off to a glorious start.

The sideline guy was embarrassing.
You need to get laid

So it actually all makes sense.
